Back to New York
There were a pair of New Yorkers flying over what remained of their beloved city.
"This is it, huh? When did they get a castle?" Kate asked her flight connection that she was currently hanging on to.
"Showed up in recent weeks. No idea where it came from, just randomly showed up like the rest of us. You sure you want to be dropped off?" Nathan said in reply, and just glad she's lighter than some of his passengers.
"I'm sure, just for some hours. See what's left and if anybody's around."
"All right, I'll circle back around this way toward the evening. Rendezvous by the park."
"Yes, sir. I got enough supplies if I run into any triffids, and can always run somewhere." She had already left a note to Will not to worry and she would see him back that night. Meanwhile Nathan figured to circle around the Northeast for supplies or people wanting connections to the farm and Metropolis just in case. Looks like there were some attempts at re-civilizing the place, and it was a bit gratifying to the pair that their city still knew how to pick itself back up again and start over.
"All right, stay safe, and see you later." Nathan took the air again, and Kate was now walking along the familiar and yet not familiar streets, armed with her bow, quiver of arrows and the silver sword she now owned.
