The truth is that everything about the last half hour is unfamiliar territory for Jamie. He'd been transported here by unknown forces, so of course things should continue in a strange pattern. If he stopped to think about it -- to really, truly examine the potential cause and effect wreaking havoc on his sense of normalcy -- his head might start hurting again. He'd rather take things one step at a time.
