Relax ladies, he's a man, and he's got the tool. Er...tools that is. Or he would if he could find some handy to get working on fixing up the supports of the farmhouse and surrounding buildings. Also make sure the earthen rooms were well secured against a cave-in. So Xander was currently on the hunt for a toolbox, toolkit, toolbelt...something. Where's a home improvement store when you need one?

Eden laughs lightly. "I'm sure he's already got one planned, too."

"Fine by me, I get enough equipment, can build a couple of homes around here for people. Well... having some more guys... or girls who know their way around construction work would be great too."

"There's a lot of rebuilding going on in Metropolis - maybe you should put a call in there? All I know is that I wouldn't be of any help." She holds out her hand to shake. "I'm Eden McCain. Been here long?"

"Xander Harris," he shook her hand with a friendly smile. And blinked at that, "...Did you say Metropolis?" Comic fanboy's brain suddenly pinged big time at that.

"Yup." Eden doesn't get comic book references - knowing she's interacted with a Clark Kent has made her never want to open one, and she only cares enough about comics to know the very basics.

Xander blinked at that. Well that explains something about this world.

"...Cool." Dopey smile at the idea. And then wondering... wait, shouldn't Superman have been able to stop this?

"That a Superman thing, I bet," Eden says, half-questioning.

"Uh yeah...I used to col...uh on occasion read one or two." Or 50... Or several hundred.

Most of which he belatedly remembered, are lying at the bottom of the crater that used to be his hometown.

...Damn.

"If you give me a second I could recall the entire soundtrack to Disney's Oliver and Company," Eden confesses. She was a Disney-geek instead of a comic-geek.

"...Wow, that's uh, wow. Good, not the only geek around here then," Big smile at that.

Eden smiles back, friendly and open. "So, how're you finding this place, aside from wanting to rennovate?"

"So far it's a lot quieter than where I used to be... Well, quieter than where I was originally I mean."

"Oh, where was that? I came from New York, myself."

"A town called Sunnydale in California. It had its moments."
