Sam is being musical.

Which is to say he's up on the roof of the farmhouse with a leaf at his lips playing a slow, pleasant tune. He does that a lot. It's a thing.

"Have to keep people interested somehow. Can't give away all my secrets."

"Certainly not."

"Glad you agree." Sam grins, wandering over to a nearby spot where the flying car is. It's only got two seats - The entire back has been removed to make way for a large engine, with a lot of vents and a tractor wheel. It looks rather battered and haphazardly put together.

Josh might possibly be in love.

Unfortunately, the car will never declare its love in return and cannot, in fact, speak.

"Like it?"

She runs her hands over the door, beaming.

"Oh, yes."

"It got a bit battered escaping from the fairies - And crashing there in the first place - but it wasn't exactly shiny and new before."

"Adds character," Josh says, still with her hands on it.

"Always important." Sam opens one of the doors, making an exaggerated hand gesture. "Whenever you're ready. The upholstery, at least, is undamaged."

She slides in, bright-eyed like a kid in a candystore.

Sam shuffles into the driver's seat, giving the various levers and wheels (more than any regular car) a quick once over.

Josh, for her part, just watches and commiting everything to memory.

"Okay, then, let's get going." A little pulse of light spreads through the car, before it slowly lifts off the ground.

She does not say 'eeeee'. She might be grinning, though.

Grins are good.

The car soars off towards the city, moving remarkably fast.

Josh grins a lot. They are almost always genuine, too.

"This is fun."

"I know." It isn't long before Sam is setting the car down outside of a recently abandoned pub and hopping out.

Josh peers out the window for a moment before opening her door and getting out.

"No one's here?"

"Abandoned. Still got good alcohol, and good food in the fridges and freezers." Sam says. "Ours for the taking - I know it's not exactly a five star restaurant with gourmet meals, but these things are the first to go after an apocalypse, you know."

"It's wonderful." She jumps up to the curb and, in her heeled boots, she's tall enough to brush his cheek with her lips.

"Thanks."

"No problem." Sam replies, cheerfully. "Fruit all day gets boring very quickly. And I think the ham is for the kraken. Off limits."

Josh pouts.

"I know. Still, at least meat can be found in other places. For the moment, at least."

"Probably a good thing I don't need to eat, then," she comments, pushing the door open.

"Need is one thing, but eating is fun."
