(no subject)

Another flash, another bang, and there was a Watcher landing hard alongside a highway near an abandoned and wrecked small town somewhere. Of course since this was Giles, this meant he was knocked out as result, and lying prone on the asphalt.

Oh.
Dear.
Lord.

The first thing he will see, when he wakes up, is Faith's worried face, hovering over him, slapping his cheek gently.

The second thing is a very flashy red convertible on the street behind her, seducing them, all red and sporty.

Two-doored tramp.

Faith sighs softly in relief and smiles ruefully at him. "And I would be, if we were still in our world. Giles....I don't know how it happened, but we're in another dimension. I've been here for a few months now."

Pause.

"We're in Canada, Giles. And this world had an Apocalypse."

"Yeah. I'm on a road trip right now, trying to...well, to contact other people, see what we can salvage to live on...I was just driving and I saw you, and...."

Faith pales a little, thinking of what might have happened, and then falls silent.

"....I don't have any meds, I'm sorry...."

"Yeah, easy there, Rambo."

Faith supports him easily, leading him over to the car.

"Ignore the rat, he's harmless..."

Wendell, snoozing peacefully in a nest of clothes in the passenger seat, barely twitches as Faith transfers him to the driver's seat before helping Giles sit down.

"New people and monsters get brought in all the time....tentacles like those Japanese cartoons Andrew thinks we don't know he watches....it's not safe to be alone."

"I think you should add 'yet' to the end of that sentence," Faith says quietly, and slides into the driver's seat with Wendell cushioned on her lap. "It's a rough life, G-String." She grins at him, wryly, pulling her seatbelt on carefully. "Buckle up."
