It's taken almost two days to ride from where Dinah found him to the Cooper farm. While Scott is used to pushing himself beyond human levels of endurance, he hasn't been sure what the blonde can take, and its easier to get the lay of the land if they ride in shifts.

There may be a memory here and there of anotehr time spent in a post-apocalyptic world, one where he might have been known as Prelate. Eventually, however, he pulls into the driveway and sits there, studying the layout.

"Anyone home?"

"Leather and fishnets?"

Dinah, Mel means, not Scott.

"She's cool. If she thought you should be here you probably do. Hi," and Mel shifts her baby to one arm to hold out the other. "I'm Mel. This is Loo."

"Yes, ma'am." He's a bit repetitive, isn't he. And would probably object to being stuffed into leather and fishnets on principle. Well, at least the fishnets. His uniform is made out of dead cow.

"She seemed very friendly." The stranger abandons his beloved bike long enough to shake Mel's hand, and eye Loo.

"Scott Summers. A pleasure."

"Yeah, don't believe a word of it." Mel, probably, is joking. "And if she offers to spar, cheat like hell."

Mel, it seems, isn't going to forget her defeat in a hurry. Nevertheless, she jerks her head back towards the bunker.

"There're beds and stuff in there; sure you can find room. People are pretty much pitching in where they're needed. You know much about farming?"

"She appears to be well trained," Scott allows. Kind of reminds him a little of Betsy, too, before all the fun body-switching hijinks.

"Uh, no. I could scout around and scavenge, though, if you tell me what areas need to be searched. Or I could do dishes, or chores. Whatever is needed, ma'am."

Scott does not relax easily.

"Talk to Dinah or Babs if you want to explore," Mel says. "I'm focused on the farm. Could use someone cleaning, though. It's kinda ad hoc right now."

"Just point me where you need someone to clean, ma'am, and I'll be happy to pitch in."

Yes. He said that with a straight face.

Mel's having difficulty. She smirks over Loo's head.

"Just keep the kitchen and the bunker clean. That'll probably take up enough time."

Honestly, she shouldn't enjoy delegating this much. The part of her that remembers being an anarchist feels guilty.

"That's doable. Shall I start now?"

See? Fearless Leader can actually take orders from someone else.

"You're keen."

Mel grins, easily. "Don't wanna get settled in, claim a bunk first?"
