New York-- or what's left of it-- is starting to piss Jennifer off.

At least, this year her name has mostly been Jennifer.

She's gone by others, in the past. A lot of others.

Getting back to New York, however: first of all, it's New fucking York. Not Norak, not Station Twenty-Eight-- New York, with cars that run on gasoline and no buildings higher than about a hundred stories. (She hasn't bothered counting, and anyways, half of them appear to have fallen down).

The second problem is that it's full of carnivorous plant life. She lost her shoes the first day and switched out her gloves the second, because the advantage her fingers and toes give to climbing is severely hampered by any attempt to hide them, and currently being inconspicuous is taking a backseat to being alive. So fingerless gloves and toe socks with the ends cut off it is.

Which is how she's currently dangling from a rooftop by her feet, staring down at three rustling green things and calculating her odds of survival if she tries to take them on all at once.

It doesn't look good.

Tomas nods, eagerly, pulling a palm-sized rectangle of metal from his coat. There's a brief flicker as the runes change from grey to white, and then it distributes a lot of tiny, glowing shards outwards that then pull together to form a motorbike.

"And for my next trick, I can produce pencils from my ear." As he switches the lights on.

"Nice trick. Don't turn on the engine. The noise'll have the tree-things on our asses in minutes."

Jessica will be over here quietly freaking out and flailing a little as she tries to incorporate MOTORBIKE OUT OF NOWHERE into her personal reality.

"I'd need to slot this in to start the engine, and I'd rather keep it on me." Waving the tablet before slotting it back into his pocket.

"Sure. Okay, you guys all right down here? Can I have the list?"

The list is currently being clutched by someone who is having a Moment.

It is probably swipeable.

Tomas casually reaches over, swipes the list, and holds it out to Damage.

"Thank you. I'll be back in half an hour."

Out and up! Damn she's fast.

OK, time to go curl up in a corner for a while, since she doesn't need to fear for her life right at this moment. There's a nice buildup of Freaked the Fuck Out in there, behind the competence.

Tomas, for his part, just starts searching the subway.
