Claire is on a mission. Well a number of missions. She has a plan, you see - or an idea that might be a plab, so she can maybe be more than one half of 'the pair of blonde baking girls.'

First she tries that new hospital, looking for grouchy old men with canes. Then she tries the kitchen of the farmhouse, looking for the ghost of her boyfriend's sister. Then she wanders around the farm randomly looking for that redhead in a wheelchair and/or that older guy who makes her blood run cold everytime she sees his face.

It's possible anyone could find her anywhere, of course.

Claire looks down at her feet. Not out of embarrassment, but because she's actually thinking about her feet.

"I'm in one piece, aren't I?"

"Sure looks like it," Babs admits with a grin.

"So, you got any ideas how you can test the whole healing thing? I mean, other than us being in some sort of emergency situation where it's that or someone dies."

Claire shrugs. "I'm gonna ask Dr. House if he's got any ideas. But I was thinking of just finding people who had some sort of injury they wanted to try it out on."

Hint.

Barbara blinks, eyes narrowing. "Wait. Are you thinking this might work on existing injuries and not just new ones?"

"I dunno," Claire's quick to say. "I've never had any injuries ever."

"And you say you can heal from anything?" Like, say, irreparable nerve damage?

"As long as you don't stick anything in my brain," Claire says easily. "That kind of killed me, once."

"Hmm..."

"What about never damage," Barbara finally asks.

Claire looks thoughtful, and offers, "well, my back's been broken a lot. And I've grown back a severed toe. That had to include some nerver."

"Yes. It would have to."

Barbara purses her lips before nodding decisively. "We'll need some sort of facility to do this in. I don't think out here on the porch is going to be the best environment."

"There's a hospital?" Claire offers.

Her tone is lighter now, hopeful. She said yes! Claire gets to be useful!

"You mean the one in Metropolis?" Barbara nods, "That might work."

"No," Claire says helpfully. "I mean the one in the field out back."

"What all will you need?" Barbara asks, running down a checklist in her head.

"I don't know," Claire admits. "I think it's just a blood transfusion."

"How much?" Barbara asks.

"You're asking like I've done this before," Claire points out.

"Good point," Babs laughs. "Any guesses, at least, or are we just going to wing it?"

"You're the smart one," Claire says cheerfully. "I got a c in biology."

"Let me think on this. We should probably start off small, little cuts and stuff, and work our way up to the big stuff. It'll probably be less of a disaster if we mess up the small stuff, after all."

Her mind is already churning through possibilities.

Claire nods, and smiles.

"That's great. OK."

"You'll be around here, right? I need to make a list and obtain some supplies. Then we can get started."

"Yeah."

Claire grins the grin of someone who's useful.

"I'll be around."

"I'll be in touch."
