Howling Wolf howls when she first awakes. She howls before she falls asleep. "It must be done," is how she explains this compulsion to Writhen. Other than that, she is a quiet travel companion when she's not giving orders.

Miles away from the Cooper farm she suddenly stops, sniffing the air for a good minute. "There are many humans up ahead," she informs Writhen. "Humans...and others." In a rare verbal acknowledgment his needs, she adds, "There is water there."

And with that, she trots onward.

A black wolf and an amphibious green demon approach the Cooper farm. As always, Howling Wolf will glance backward every so often to keep track of Writhen.

There was a truck rumbling up with supplies. Being a god's follower had its perks.

He put the brake on when he noticed the pair on the road, and peered out for a better look.

Seeing the truck, Howling steps further away from the road and throws her head back in a long howl.

Howling Wolf appears unrufled - alert but not afraid - as she waits for the truck to approach.

The truck rumbled to a stop, and he shifted gears.

He then leaned out to peer back at them. A wolf. And ... uh is that a demon? And is it a friendly one, or a bad one?

Stand aside Writhen - Howling can take care of this.

Mostly by trotting after the van and saying, "Greetings, human. This is your territory?"

Writhen is totally used to deferring to people who are higher-ranked than him, and Howling Wolf has fitted neatly into that slot. Seeing as she's part of the group comprising 'everyone else ever'.

So he's just going to stand here, all gangly-limbed and thorny and such, and give the truck a look that clearly says 'what the hell is that, and is it likely to try to eat me?'

"Uh not in that I marked my territory kind of way, since that's kind of gross." Barring once hyena tendencies that is... cough, cough.

"I live down that way though. You heading there?"

Howling Wolf isn't offended at Xander's thoughts on marking his territory: her thoughts are more along the line of Silly humans.

"Once I determine it is safe, yes."

"Oh it is. Safest area around."

Howling's tail wags slightly - not that she won't check out the area herself, but she's happy that at least one human thinks so.

"Such good news. I am Howling Wolf, a wolf-spirit. This is Tricorn Writhen, a demon."

"I'm Xander... uh, good kind of demon that likes snack food, or the bad kind that likes snacking on people?" These distinctions are important to somebody from the Hellmouth.
