FLASH BANG!

"Hey, Billy, what's with the fire...works.... What the h-?"

Teddy stares around the ruined streets, confused as all get out. He'd just been chatting with his boyfriend, when everything vanished, leaving him in this ruined town.

"Oh, man! Did Iron Lad try coming back? This place looks horrible. Billy! BILLY!"

"Flyings not exactly my thing." As he follows Nathan up. "I mean, I can, yeah, but it's just a part."

He turned to glance back at him as he headed up, and started to fly away from the city.

"What is your thing? Besides being a kid in high school?"

"Ever hear of the Avengers?" He might not have. He hadn't heard of the Initiative.

Nathan considered the phrase. Something about it sounded familiar...

He finally said, remembering, "Not exactly, heard of some young woman mentioning a 'Young Avengers' when she introduced herself before me at this big meeting over at the farm last month."

Teddy perks up. A lot. "Oh, sweet, someone else from my team!"

"Yeah, dark hair... Can't remember her name. Had a lot of fighting techniques for a civilian though," Nathan remarked.

He glanced over to him as they flew over Pennsylvania, "So that make you one too? What is an Avenger anyway? Supposed to be some kind of superhero?"

"Hawkeye." Has to be her. "We're-"

He sighs.

"Yeah, some kind."

Although what kind is up in the air.

"Yeah, name sounds familiar."

Nathan then considered what was spoken and unspoken.

He then just said, "We haven't got to that point back home yet. Don't think we ever will. World doesn't need my kind in tights and capes anyway. Enough of targets already."

Teddy can't help but arch a brow at that one. "Huh?"

"You haven't asked how I can be flying. Guessing it's more common where you come from?"

"About one in three get flight with whatever other powers they have." He's not for sure on that, but it sounds right.

Nathan nodded at that, "We're pretty sure it's genetic. However we got these, but it's usually one to a customer where I come from." He knew of two exceptions, one he was related to.

"Powers expand." Teddy tries a barrel roll, before coming back up. "Like, I'm a shapeshifter, but, because of that, I can fly as well. And I have a friend who can use magic, so to fly he just needs to cast a spell. There's all sorts of different ways to acheive flight."

"Maybe, I just take off and go." Kid wants to show off? He can show off. Used to be a pilot in the Navy after all.

"Like this." And he then shot through the clouds with a boom, leaving a contrail behind him.

He pulls back, hovering for a bit, his eyes gleaming. "Nifty." And then Teddy shoots after Nathan, nowhere near as fast.

Nathan circled around and gradually slowed back to Teddy's speed.

"Still trying to see what else I can do with this."

"Get yourself some spiked gauntlets, you could do some real damage."

Of course, he thinks that way.

"Yeah? Hmm, maybe in Metropolis." They were getting pretty close now.

"Just a few more states to Kansas now. You want the farm or the city? Either's pretty safe."

"Where's Hawkeye at?" Cause that's the important thing.

"Around the farm."

"That's where I wanna go."

"It's closer to where we are anyway. Not as far west as Metropolis. Right over this way." He gestured, and flew ahead to guide the way to the Cooper farm.

Teddy follows warily.

The scenary was giving ways to wide fields, flat, stretching for miles. With brief ribbons of roads cutting through.

And then the strange sight of a farm/commune village with a hospital, a ship, and a castle among oddities.

Nathan slowed up, and gestured. "That's it." He then started to descend to the ground.

Teddy glides down to a landing, peering around. "Huh. It's, uh, different."

"Yeah, it's one of the safest places around and quiet so a lot of people have been settling here." He pointed out where the earthen bunkers were, the notice board, the Cooper farmhouse, the building with shower and bathroom stalls.

"Mel's kind of running the show around here. Young woman with streaked hair, and a couple of kids. There's a couple of doctors in the hospital, don't be surprised if you see multiple versions of some people. (Don't ask) Smallville's a short walk for supplies, or in your case, just fly over to Metropolis for them."

"Uhm." He lets his wings draw back in. "Thanks?"

"Sure thing, I'm gonna go turn in myself. Take it easy. And welcome to the Cooper farm."

"Thanks." Teddy waves it off, peering around curiously.
