After the flight with Jean, Tumnus is rather thoughtful and when he thinks he plays.

The sound of pan pipes drifts from behind the Cooper House as Tumnus plays and plays, thinking of Narnia, Lucy and the White Witch.

"Pan pipes."

Dinah comes up behind him, smiling fondly. "There's something I haven't heard in a long time."

He turns to her and gives a bow and a smile,

"Thank you, I've always enjoyed playing."

Dinah bows in return. "I never did," she admits. "It was good practice for the voice, though."

"Are you a singer?"

"Oh no." Dinah shakes her head vehemently. "I'm completely tone deaf. It's sort of complicated - my voice is a weapon."

"Are you a siren?"

Dinah almost laughs.

"No one's ever called me that before."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I ask the wrong thing?"

He worries at his tail a bit.

Dinah shakes her head, still smiling.

"No, you didn't. I don't think there's a suitable analogy for my scream in Grecioroman mythology. I'm all human."

"Oh, you're a Daughter of Eve."

That explains a lot and he beams at her with understanding.

"...sure," Dinah allows, and grins back. "A long way down the line, mind."

"Yes, but you still are."

This is important after all.

"I guess."

Dinah sits down and hugs her knees. "My name's Dinah."

"I'm Tumnus, its a pleasure to meet you. If I play again, would you like to sing?"

"Please," Dinah says - insists, "you do not want to hear me sing, honestly."

"I'm sure you're not as bad as you think."

"Completely tone deaf, I swear," Dinah protests. "I couldn't find a tune with a map."

"Then I'll just play more for you."

He smiles again and picks up his pipes to begin once more.

Dinah grins and leans back, having a really good listen. It's nice, just to get this time to relax.

She's a good audience and he's quite happy to play.
