It's taken a little while to find, but this place definitely fits the description of an odd collection of buildings - so, a blue police telephone box materialises in a conventient open space near the farmhouse, ad a blonde head pokes out.

"Hello, the farm!" She calls.

Babs, sitting on the back porch, recognizes that voice. "Hello yourself."

Due to her voice-filtering, the Doctor doesn't. But, red hair, and a wheelchair? It adds up.

"Oracle," she says, smiling. "Or would you prefer Barbara?"

"Barbara's fine," she answers with a quirked eyebrow. "Though I must admit I expected to have to introduce myself." She seems mildly disturbed by the lack of such a need.

"Oh, you haven't heard about that yet? Universes sort of. . . leak into each other, and come out as fiction. I've read comics about you and your world. I don't know if they're completely accurate - and I'm not a huge obsessed fan anyway - but I know enough to recognise you. Leah, our marooned friend, seems to be from a world with me as fiction, she called me 'doctor' after hearing my callsign."

Babs blinks a few times, the nods slowly. "Well... that's interesting. I guess that means that you know more about me than I know about you." She offers a self-deprecating chuckle, "And you probably know just how much that thrills me."

"Yeah, sorry about that," she says, ruefully. "But on the other hand, it's enough to trust you implicitly. Enough to let you have full access to the TARDIS and all it's systems."

Which is. . . a pretty big thing.

"Seriously?" Barbara asks, surprised. "I must have a pretty dang talented inter-dimensional publicist..."

Tumnus comes out quietly to greet her with a shy bow,

"Hello. Is that a wardrobe?"

"No," she says, "it's a telephone box, or at least it looks like one. There's a wardrobe inside, though."

He nods even though he has no idea what a telephone is and comes forward on cautious hooves to peer at it,

"Oh, does the wardrobe lead to the land of Spare Oom?"

"No," she says, and recognises him for who he is. (Thirteen is a fan, after all). But he would find it weird, so she keeps her mouth shut.

"It's just a wardrobe."

"Oh, I'm Tumnus. Are you a witch?"

Its not a cruel question simply a curious one.

"No, I'm just a me. Not human, though. pretty close, but no cigar."

His tail twitches at that and he fiddles with his scarf,

"Is everyone here Men? Are there no Talking Animals or nymphs or dryads or dwarves?"

"Not that I've seen, but then, I haven't been everywhere, nor have I seen everything."

"Hello, the women of the blue box!"

There's undisguised laughter in that tone.

From a red-headed woman who's lying in the grass, appearing to have looked up from over a file folder she was reading.


At least, perhaps, because perhaps, if a specific someone wasn't expecting and assuming she was supposed to just simply be a woman, in a red summer dress, reading file papers, perhaps, to that person she'd looked like vastly more.

The Doctor smiles and waves a hand.

"Oracle invited me here."

"She's sweet like that." Jean grinned, holding the folder lower so she could see better.

"I'm Jean. Are you visiting from another city or a new arrival?"

"Little of both," says the Doctor, who someone as powerful as Jean will be able to tell isn't even slightly human, beyond her appearance.

"I've been here for a while, but only just found the farm and you people."

That part got noticed. At first blush, without pushing for more yet.

Along with the indeterminately detailed police-box-that-was-not.

"Lucky." That got a bit of a smirk. "It's my third day and I haven't managed any other places here as of yet. Where did you start out?"

"Oh, all over the place," she says, waving a careless hand. And that is, actually, the total truth, if not entirely precise.

The smile gave amusement at that answer. The way the woman said it had a sort of casual, almost infectious, whimsy.

"I was considering a trip to Metropolis. It doesn't exist on my Earth, so it seemed a good place to start. Any advice?"
