"Well. That was, well, different. Yup." Stephanie waves her thanks to the nice person who gave her the lift. At least Kansas is better then Canada.

Speaking of Kansas:

Robin takes a good look at the farm area. This place looks all right at the first glance. Then she notices the bunker. Then the castle/ship thing. She doesn't let her jaw drop. No, she's seen plenty in her time, this is nothing, right? Right.

But Stephanie is a girl to make the best of it! She will soldier on! And her first stop, is to try and find where Babs is, and maybe get this whole thing explained.

"I know, right?" Steph reaches a hand out to her younger self's shoulder tentatively.

(God that is weird. Touching herself, but not.)

"I don't know any details. I'm sorry."

Steph hugs herself. No, wait, she hugs her self? She hugs the other her, that works. "That sucks."

Steph pats the other Steph's back gently.

"Yeah, seriously."

SO WEIRD. They have the exact same body temperature.

Steph disengages, to look at herself again. "This is weird. awesome, but weird. Uhm. Where..." She kicks the bag that has gone previously unmentioned of clothing "Is there a place for my stuff?"

"Yeah. Yeah, there's a bunker out there --" She waves, and hefts the other Steph's bag. "I'll find you a bed. There's showers and toilets in the block behind it, and there's stacks of cupboards and stuff. Just basically claim a spot."

"No real privacy, huh?" She taps her mask, thinking. "Don't really even need this, do I?"

"Not really." Steph shrugs, grinning, leading the way. "It's not like everyone here hasn't already seen my face."

"Maybe I should keep it, y'know, so people can tell the difference between us." Steph follows, pondering. "Or get nametags. I'm steph one, this is my fellow steph, Steph 2"

"Oh, c'mon, no way," Steph protests. "I am totally Steph-1. I'm older, and I've been here longer. You get to be Steph-2."

"But, I got to be Robin, therefore, I am Steph-1, because I am so much more awesome." See? It's so clear when you look at it that way.

"Nuh-uh." Steph folds her arms, frowning. "That was only because you stayed in Gotham."

... it's a weak defence, but she's suddenly realising that maybe she understands a little more how Sokka feels about his alternate now. His younger alternate who is what he always wanted to be.

It's not entirely a pleasant feeling.

"and, your point?" Cause to her, it sounds like just further proof of what she's been saying.

"Nothing, I guess."

Steph looks away, folding her arms, frowning.

"I'm still not letting you call me Steph-Two."

"Fine, I'm Steph-1, you're Steph-A, how's that sound?" Pretty much equal.

"I guess I could live with that."

She still doessn't like it. But ... well, it's not that big a deal.

Right?

It shouldn't bother her at all.

"Or I'm Steph-R and you're Steph-S Or we're just both Steph, and when we're not around and talking to other people about each other, we're the other Steph." Which actually sounds a lot less likely to hurt feelings.

"Hey, I'm good with anything." Steph gives her an extra-bright smile. "Catch you around, huh?"

Steph returns the exact same smile. "You better believe it, me-o"
