Jo ended up with the Winchester's for the night. Her bike parked off to the side of the double Impala tracks.

Unsurprisingly, it was infuriatingly easy for five people to end up under each others feet moving around in a house.

Needing to escape the muddle of Winchesters, Jo is sitting on the porch steps drinking a glass of tea Mary handed her on the way out.

"I'm an expert on finding them," Jack confides. "Where were you planning on?"

Jo was looking at him in a considering fashion suddenly.

His car was bigger, and if she didn't have to kill him for suddenly turning evil in the middle of nowhere....


...well, he wasn't Dean. And he really wasn't Sammy..

"Little place. Called the Roadhouse. I wanna see if it's there."


The varying degrees of half-truth are scattered all over that.

As is just how important the place really is.

Sometimes in this world it does Jack a service to be fully honest about what he can and can't do. Other times - well, it's almost like being at home, and Reading becomes something he just doesn't talk about.

"I know the place not, but if it's there and you can navigate, I'd be happy to help you search."

He wanted to take her to fight monsters?

And find her home?

She's grinning now. Again. A lot. Eyes like bright copper.

"Making me an offer I can't refuse, Jack?"

Jack is an utter utter fool for a pretty lady and a bright grin. And right now there's nothing in the world he wouldn't do to take this lady to her home and kill things alongside her.

Somewhere there's a hint of envy she can fight monsters while being a lady, but it's not going to be acknowledged.

"Aye, my lady. Say the word and I'm at your command."

The 'my lady' gets a little bit of a nose wrinkle.

But she's thinking about the other things too much to really point it out.


"You should be stayin' around then. Or hop skip back once you've made your peace and I've kicked some asses into gear around here."

Jack notices that and takes it on board. No special abilities there; just observation and application of smarts.

"That I shall, count on it," he says, doffing his hat again. "Action is always better with company."

Jo grinned wide.

"Good."
