Leah is in a good mood today. It's warm out, and she's had a successful raiding in local flats. And now, she's ready to talk to people again. Oracle mentioned that there might be other people manning her line,which is fine by Leah, she's only after a chat, anyway.

"All right, anyone there?"

[OOC: open to pretty much anyone with SW radio access, who knows Babs and might be asked to man a channel to the Innovator, or anyone else with a way to talk to her. No rescuing, please.]

"Oracle is online." Babs grins. "Glad to hear you're still alive over there, Innovator."

"Glad to be alive," Leah says cheerfully. "Especially at mealtimes, which this is. How's it going, Cassandra?"

Barbara blinks, taking a moment to process the name. Then she bursts out laughing at the unintended irony.

Eventually she gets herself under control enough to ask. "What have you managed to scrounge up to eat?"

"I'm working my way through a hoard of cans," Leah says, mildly distracted as she concentrates on opening the one in front of her. "And today it is..." a sniff. "Huh, peaches. Nice."

"You've got peaches?" Barbara chooses not to suppress the slight envy in her voice. "Man, I miss peaches."

"Tinned peaches," Leah points out with some indignation at Oracle being envious of her. "Not like the real things at all."

"Sure, but I'm getting sick of pears. Apparently someone stumbled across and entire shipment of the things around here."

"Oh man," Leah complains, almost whining. "Fresh pears? Real honest-to-god freah pears? Why do you taunt me like that?"

"No wouldn't that be something," Barbara laughs. "Unfortunately they're just canned."

"Then I don't feel so bad with these," Leah admits.

"OK, Cass, that's all the new I got for you today. You have anything new and exciting?"

"Well, things are getting weirder and weirder around here. I've managed to pick up two more people I know who aren't the people I know."

"What?"

This sounds like it might be a story.

"I don't want to give too much out over an open channel, but basically I picked up two people from home, but from different places in time than me. Younger. Older. It's giving me a headache keeping it all straight."

The storm cellar is obnoxious and annoying. Aka Very, very, normal. full of children's toys and mementos of adults. Common and ordinary and not weapons grade except in a pinch.

But she had found a radio, and being so very tired of not having a cell phone or a tv or internet in this world, she started playing with the channels.

Which was when she picked up the SOS.

And responded.

Leah had almost forgotten her ongoing SOS, it's been on loop for so long. After a few long long seconds fumblingand chatting away in Morse, she managfes to hook up audio and grins into the mic.

"All right, how's it going?"

"Fucking hell, there's life out there."

Jo said with laughter in her tone.

"It's very boring here. Who's this?"

"That's what I was gonna say," Leah agrees. "This is the Innovator, I've no idea where I am beyond 'probably Germany', and I'm fecking bored. Who're you?"

"Jo in Kansas."

She was smiling, if not being as specific on either as she could.

"How's Europe looking?"

Leah apparently finds that amusing enough to warrent a throaty snort.

"Well, it sounds dull as Hell, I can tell you that much."

That gets a huh with raised eyebrows, as she's clearing things out.

Making herself a nice spot on the ground.

"Stuck somewhere?"

"'Til I figure out where I am, yeah," Leah says. "Got plenty offers for rescue, and no one actually managed to pinpoint my location. Which is helpful. Only people I've met face to face are an intangible spirit with the attention span of a goldfish and an overly familiar group of unfriendlies."

"That blows."

Cause....it does.

Then.

"Wait. There are more people on here?"

Shock and wining surprise there.

"Not this frequency," Leah clarifies, "but give the dial a turn. You looking for contact, Oracle couls probably pick you up. Or the Doctor."

Jo's looking around madly in the stash of annoying crap as she speaks. There has to be paper and something to write with in here.

She finds a box of crayons by the time she has to respond again.

"Who are they?"

Leah meanwhile was whistling the Doctor Who theme tune (early 80s era.)

"Oracle's in the same business as me," she says. "She helps people out. Got a plane with a couple of fighters on board to pick up. The Doctor's a time travelling alien with the voice of the woman on the AIM soundbites."
