One nice thing about being able to duplicate yourself is the fact that moving furniture from one location to another is usually a well coordinated effort.

Usually.

The paranoid duplicate spent more time coming up with conspiracy theories about how the Beyonder was to blame or that the Illumanati consider Jamie and Laya a threat and sent them here instead of another planet and...

Well he was holding things up so Jamie absorbed him and created another duplicate who seemed to obsessed with pudding. Which was marginally less annoying than the conspiracy theories but at least this dupe could moved boxed furniture while he talked.

It wasn't until he got back to the farm that he realized that the furniture assembly instructions were written in Russian.

Badly translated Russian.

Which made it worse when Jamie, who was bad at Russian to begin with, translated it back into English again.

"Insert bolt joe into rutabaga towel."

The duplicate looked over his should and frowned. "You know what we need? More pudding."

This could take a while.

"Might as well," Jack says cheerfully. "Enjoy everythingthis world can offer."

"What's the best thing you've found so far?" Jamie asked as he finished the bookcase and stepped back to see if it would fall apart.

Jack grins widely. "Canned Pineapple."

Jamie had to laugh at that. "Jack? We so need toi broaden your horizons."

Jack doesn't quite laugh himself, but he maintains an amused expression.

"So it seems."

"Especially since there are so many canned fruits available," Jamie continued. "Peaches. Pears. Fruit cocktail. And movies! Oh man have they introduced you to TV yet? Best way to kick back and relax after a long day."

"T.V.?"

Jack looks intrigued.

"It's a box thing with a screen on it that shows... um... kinda like plays. Only you don't have to leave your home."

"I may have to see this at some point."

"Well I don't know if there's any televisions stations broadcasting anything," Jamie said scratching his head. "But I'm sure we can scrounge up something to play DVD's or Video tapes."

Jack now looks torn.

DVDs or exploring?

"Mayhap we could add these to the things to search for as we embark on our journey."

When in doubt, go for both.

"We can do both. I'm sure we can find a portable thing to watch stuff on depending on what level technology they have here," Jamie said as he pulled out the parts for an end table. "Also have you been on a motorcycle yet? I'm thinking it might be good to have something to ride on that can go where cars can't."

"Not yet," Jack says, ruefully. "Doubt not I could work out how to use one, though."

"Good. Shouldn't be too hard to teach you," Jamie said with a nod. "I'll probably start the whole explore America project next Tuesday. Work for you?"

"Works for me."

Jack would be given the thumbs up if he had it culturally. Instead Jamie gets an expressive wink.

"I hope you're not hitting on me, Jack because I really don't swing that way," Jamie joked.

Jack snorts in laughter.

"Me neither, in truth."
