Dianne's not in The House right now.

Or any other house, for that matter.

She's been sitting in the Impala for the past few hours, alternately blasting out some of her rock tapes and sitting in silence.

And that's about it.

The grin goes from Jack's face. He takes a gulp from the bottle and hands it back.

"Would follow your own advice."

Whiskey/Dianne = OTP right now, man.

"Yeah? And what was that?"

"Not stick around along," Jack says.

"Wind in your sails, as they'd say."

"I'm thinkin' about it."

"Oh aye?" says Jack, with a grin. "Where goest you?"

Another swig of whiskey.

"Got some business with some midgets. After that, I don't know."

This time Jack sounds more upbeat. "Get yerself some action."

"Got family to find, though."

"If they can be found."

Jack half mutters it, turning his head away as if sad he had to say it.


He can't Read them, and this is strange

Dianne is nothing if not pigheaded determined.

Jack doesn't think she knows that for certain, but he does a good show of acting like it. "How shall you find them?"

Shrug, and a slight, humorless smile.

"Don't know that yet."

Jack doesn't return the smile straight away, but it comes suddenly after a second.

"Adventure in the discovery."
