Sokka (the one in red silk) is in the Cooper house's kitchen.

Sokka has been there most of the time, except when he wasn't.

Sokka is likely to remain there.

Also? He has mostly disassembled the toaster.

Nobody told him not to!

Gabriel's shaking his head and staring at Claire, intermittently furious and horrified.

For a second, the first wins out. "You're lying."

He realises he's backing away, and stops himself rigidly.

No no no but backing away is good! Sokka liked the backing away!

"Um ... don't do it any more!" he insists brightly, and backs a little himself, trying to push Claire towards the door.

Away from the person making her cry is good!

Mad at Claire has a habit at making her mad at you. Even when she's scared. And he hasn't done anything so far to actually make fear win out over anger, so she snaps back at him.

"Why would I lie about that?"

Still, she's letting Sokka push her back.

She'd lie because... because... Okay, you know what? Screw pride, he's making a full-scale retreat, sharpish. Inty can tell him that Claire's wrong. She'll know that he wouldn't be a murderer, even if it wasn't really him, just someone exactly the same in every respect and therefore easily close enough to seriously freak him out.

He slams the door behind him. Well, a dignified exit just really wasn't happening at this point.

Sokka relaxes his grip on his sword and turns to look at Claire, worried.

Claire looks at Sokka, and her eyes are wet, but she's got Brave Face on.

BRAVE FACE.

She nods.

"I just want to find Mr. Muggles."

Sokka approves of Brave Face SO MUCH. It's so much better than crying face!

"We'll find him," he promises, and carefully puts a cautious arm around her shoulder. "I'm good at finding things!"

This is possibly true, possibly not. But if finding the dog will make her stop being sad, then FIND THE DOG THEY WILL.
