After the latest plant threat had arrived in the city, and Garo was looking after a feverish Will, Kate was running through the streets of New York, and more so, the sewers and subways of the city. As she went along, she tapped out SOS in Morse code along some of the pipes. They needed help up here, and more people and weapons.

And fast.

She panted lightly as her boots splashed through the dirty water of the sewers, startling the few remaining rats and roaches living underground.

"Isn't safe down here, you know." Tomas remarks as he heads out of the darkness, splashing through the water. "Green men. I've been down here clearing them."

She paled a little, "They even come down here? Even without the sunlight?" Kate gripped her bow more.

"There's people living down here, they need to be warned. Wait, what fighting abilities do you have?"

"I can use guns, swords, long double-edged spears, and I can summon powered armour to help me." Mildly. "Your turn."

"Thank god, we gonna need as much help as we can get. I know archery, some guns, fencing, swordfighting, and various schools of martial arts, plus kickboxing."

She then asked, "The powered armor, can you do that just for yourself? Or others too? And do you have any healing ability or knowledge? Because I know basic first aid and CPR but that's all."

"There's only one set of my specific version. There's another person around here somewhere with a different model of the armour. But, only people with mechanical nervous systems can wear it. Risk a coma otherwise." He shrugs. "I know first aid and can patch people up, but that's kinda it as far as healing goes."

"Figured I'd check. Since my boyfriend's sick with a fever, and we got an infirmary in the castle, but no doctors or healers up here."

Kate added, "But fighters is definitely what we need right now. Have you run into a lot of people down here? I've met Jessica, Kern, and this bird girl around. Also some woman named Rachel, but haven't seen her around on patrols for a while now."

"Down in the sewers? No. In New York? Well, there's Sirius and Lily, and Sara, and Finger-Girl."

"I haven't met any of them. They're not at the castle, I hope nothing's happened. Have you seen any of them recently? We're trying to get some communication around to contact people."

"I've been away for a while hunting down a giant airship, so no, I haven't seen them recently. I assume they're around somewhere, though."

"An airship? Had any luck?"

"A specific one. The armour has an accompanying airship, the Avalon. And yes, I did. It's hovering somewhere nearby. Near enough that I can call it."

"If I knew you better, you'd so be getting a hug right now," she beamed back at him because that was the best news she's heard all day.

"That's great, we can get people, supplies or if people need to be evacuated..."

"That's the idea, yeah."

"Great, god... glad you're back. I'm Kate by the way. Kate Bishop."

"Tomas Black."

"Great to meet you then. Castle's back this way if you want to come along. It's been pretty safe there."

She then paused, "The airship will have to remain back a little. I know electronics don't work in it. Some magical field stops it."

"I'll have to stay out, then. Cyborg."

She paled a little with the realization that she almost unknowingly caused problems for him, ".....Oh god. Right, sorry."

"It's fine. Might've wandered in while exploring if you hadn't told me."

"Good point, yeah. All right, then consider it off limits. Shame, that means if my friend Vision winds up here, he'll have to stay away too."

"At least there's also the subways."
