(no subject)

A ship appears off the coast of Galveston - a tall ship with white sails, and with no visible crew.

That is, until a man appears on deck, surveying the land.

The sea is quiet.

Until the surface breaks briefly as something large rises a short distance away, disappearing under the foam.

The second splash occurs about fifty yards from the prow of his ship; a large round object surfaces and slides under, like a whale coming for air.

Would it be necessary if a third rising object begins to unfurl? Because from a different spot from either of the first places, something is uncurling out into something that looks for all the world like a tentacle.

That tentacle rises, and rises some more, and rises...

...and on the direct opposite side of the ship, another appears.

Jsut then, both tentacles smash down on the spot where the ship is - or hopefully, was.
