The sun is setting, and a car appears in the distance.

Inside is a 24-year old, a 7 year old, and an imaginary sister.

Lenore, exhausted, stops the car outside a farm that looks like it hasn't seen a drop of water in years, and promptly flops back onto the hood of the vehicle.

She's tired. She's hungry. Her hands are shaking and she's sweating and it takes everything she has to keep it from happening, and within a few minutes, it subsides. There are a few lights on in the farmhouse, she notices, and so she checks to make sure Bridgette is still asleep before walking over and knocking on the door.

"Hey," she calls, hoping someone hospitable will open the door, "I've got a kid with me."

"Nottingham, my family 'as a stall by the market though for the last few years been in Sherwood since Robin was made outlaw."

As he talks of Sherwood, there's something a bit other in his green eyes, old magic and truth.

Jesus.

"What's it like, there?" she asks, listening intently. "I've only read about the place."

He visibly relaxes, seeming older and bit more as he speaks for Sherwood is home and she is one of his men,

"Na sure could e'er do 'er justice, she's Sherwood, when I was there, 'er Green 'ad turned an light is full o'color. Does 'er best to watch o'er us though we do fail 'er at times."

Lenore smiles.

"It sounds beautiful," she says, just as the toast pops up. She then fetches butter from the fridge and butters the two slices, handing one to Will.

"Here. Eat."

The toast disappears rapidly, he tries to be neat really, but in the end he's a teenage boy who hasn't had enough to eat for a while,

"Thank ye an aye tis, tis Sherwood."

"I'm not from anywhere special like that," she says, tossing a napkin Will's way.

He catches it easily enough,

"Tis yer 'ome though so 'as to be special in someway."

She thinks about that for a moment.

"... nope, it isn't."

:D!

"Does it least 'ave a name?"

Will's going to make more toast and also find the cheese since bread and cheese is just one of the best thing ever.

"Washington, D.C. -- it's the capital of the country I'm from."

She knows there's no America yet.

"Oh aye, sounds like a good an proper name. Like somethin' the Romans would 'ave 'ad."

Now the toaster and the cheese are presenting a problem, toast then melt cheese or perhaps do both at the same time.

Lenore eyes him for a second and can tell what he's trying to do.

"Don't put that in there!" she says quickly. "It'll probably set the toaster on fire."

After some rummaging, she finds a spatula and frying pan. "Here, I'll make you one of the tastiest things ever."

GRILLED CHEESE FTW!

Lenore gets beamed at, "Oh aye?"

Setting the toaster on fire would be bad but new things to eat are good.

"Aye," she grins.

It doesn't take long, and more rummaging produces a plate.

"Here," she says, "this beautiful thing right here is called grilled cheese."

Of course, she has to make one for herself as well, now.

There is more beaming, a slight bit of cursing at the hot, but then grinning through cheese.

Warm, new food, life suddenly improved a huge amount.
