Last night was...

...last night was just what Mel needed to work out some of her issues right now :-D?

Since coming back, she's been doing rounds of the farm with a determined eye, making lists of things that need doing, doing some of the more urgent things; maybe she's spoken to you about what you need to do, but it's possible she hasn't yet caught upon all the gossip.

Now, as Hana and Loo play together in the grass, she's sitting and staring comtemplatively at a car that once flew. Funny how, even though one may have a genius mechanic for a brother and live with still more, there are some things for which help still cannot be asked for.

Mel wants to make it work again, and she's not sure where to start.

"I am totally telling Sokka on you!"

Mel isn't satisfied with this reaction.

She tries again.

Steph tries valiantly not to squeak, edging away even further. "I'm not ticklish," she lies through gritted teeth.

LOOK HOW STRONG SHE'S BEING augh augh stoppit Mel.

"So this is all jake, then?"

Mel is sure Sokka would approve of this.

"EEEEEK! Mel, noooo!"

There is no further to squirm without Hana and Loo getting crushed. Steph squeaks and flails instead, shoving at the stronger woman. "I'm not ticklish I'm not I'm not I'm not!"

Mel stops suddenly, drawing back a little.

"OK."

SHE WILL REMEMBER THIS.

Steph takes a few minutes to realise it's stopped. She peeks up, and attempts to recover her dignity by sitting very straight.

"...that was way too easy." Suspicious Steph is suspicious!

"What, me stopping when you ask me to?"

"Yeah."

Simple answer!

"Why's that so surprising?"

Mel is hurt that Steph doesn'ttrust her.

Steph looks at her.

"You're Sokka's sister."

"And he knows I'm trustworthy!"

So there.

Steph nods quickly. "Totally trustworthy. Really. With anything except tickling knowledge!"

"I'm not tickling you now."

"Which I really appreciate," Steph says earnestly, picking up a toddler to hold protectively. Loo protests a little. "No, really."

Mel grins, and takes Loo's hand in her own.

She winks obviously at the toddler, then Mom and baby tickle Steph together.

Loo loves it.

"Hey!"

"HEY!"

"AUGH I AM TELLING ON YOU FOR SURE!"

THIS IS SO UNFAIR. It's way harder to fight off a toddler than an adult! You can punch an adult!

Loo screams in delight, whihc makes Mel laugh, and makes Hana run up to see what's so funny.

She, for some reason, thinks the sitaution needs a toddler crawling up Mom's back.

Steph wriggles around and tries to tickle Mel back, squealing. "Loo! Loo, you gotta help me tickle Mom!"

"YES!"

The trouble with this plan, no matter how hard Loo tries to wiggle, is that a) Mel is much stronger than Loo and Steph put together, and b) Mel isn't actually ticklish.

Not being ticklish is CHEATING, MEL.

Fortunately, four hands are better than two! Steph leans over to whisper to Loo "What if we tie her up and make her ... eat icecream?"

DREAD PUNISHMENT.

"Ice cream!"

That's not Loo. That's Hana, who has made her way onto Mel's shoulder, with help from Mel, and is haning on tight to her hair. Loo, in Steph's hands, squeals and agrees.

Mel eyebrows. How is Steph planning on achieving that?

Steph is multitalented! Also, works in the pub/general store in Smallville, and thus heard that there was a shipment and snagged a two-litre tub of it.

The forcing-Mel-to-eat-it bit, though, she really didn't think through.

"Ice cream for you," she informs Mel authoritatively. "And if you scream lots, it'll be the SPOON, TOO."

Blank look.

The gravity of which is ruined when Hana pulls her hair and she winces.

"Don't wanna know about the spoon."

"No, you really don't," Steph agrees seriously.

And giggles a little at Hana, and tucks her own hair out of the way.

"It would keep you up at night."
