Abandoning people in their house after they've offered you hospitality is incredibly rude, especially if the person in question is disabled and unable to follow. Leah was upset and bitter for at least fifteen minutes.
Then she got over it, tidied her apartment again and finished the headpiece she was working on. Visitors this morning would find her in the large basement room she had Sam convert into a target range, using her bow and laser sight to send arrow after arrow into the target. It's practically meditation.
Anyone who happened to be fiddling with their radio might find her frequency, too. She keeps them open.

"You mind taking comm pieces out in the field? Keep me updated?"

Sure, she gave it to him ages ago, but he's only just remembered it. And it's not like he ever turned it on anyway.

Leah leans out of her own seat, reaching a hand roughly towards him, searching for it.
"I've got a couple earpieces with Pax encryption. Should keep private from O out for a while." More for his benefit than Leah's, but even she likes secrets.

Plus, he's still a little defensive about this (http://community.livejournal.com/shatterverse/233628.html?thread=14567836#t14567836).
"I'm gonna be honest with you," he says, as he puts the radio in her hand, "I'm probably not going to use yours much either. But I'll hang onto them."
no subject
"Just in case. If I have an idea what you're up to, I won't worry so much."
Not that she worries much, but she still worries.
no subject
Yeah.
"I'll keep it in the car."
no subject
"That'll do," Leah says.
She heads over to her worktable, deposits Oracle's radio in one box, and picks up a small object, cobbled together from over-ear headphones and random electronics. It's not pretty, but it's not delicate either. She finds her way back to Sam and hands it over.
"Not just for business, either. I'm a gossip hound these days."
no subject
Taking her headset, Sam turns it over in his hands curiously, looking it over. "Lower on gossip than jobs, even."

As for gossip, he has no interest. But anything about a job will definitely get his attention.

Certain he doesn't need her pointing stuff out, she gets another two beers while she's up.
"You guys are gonna be alright, right? Just do some jobs together?"
no subject
Things could be good again. Good as they ever were for the brothers, anyway.
"Whole world needs saving, right? Why not us to start with."
no subject
Someone she has been doing a pretty good job not thinking about.
no subject
"Is that good or...?"
no subject
"Yeah. It's good."
no subject
Which means that, after a moment, he's clearing his throat awkwardly and leaning forward, all business. "So this priest guy... you want us to try and check it out or is Oracle already on it?"
no subject
"Haven't told Oracle actually. Might be nothing. Next time he's on the line I'll see if I can't milk him for location information."
Which means, Leah'd be happy to send the boys after it, and just the boys.
no subject
In any case, Sam smiles for the unsaid, regarding the job. "Let me know. We could check it out for you."
He would definitely be more willing to answer to Leah than to Oracle-- as much as any Winchester answers to anyone.
no subject
"That'd be cool, cheers."
no subject
Sam grins a little and tips his bottle at her, still not completely used to the idea of verbal-only responses. "Cheers."
