Intro type thing

"Agh, what the sprock?" Flash bang. One minute, he and Superman were getting ready to head back from the 30th century so that Kon could finally rejoin his friends and family after being dead of all things, and now he's... somewhere? He flies up to get a better view. Hawaii, apparently. Though it doesn't look like it did last time he was here. And Kal's nowhere in sight.

"How long was I dead?" he wonders aloud, looking around. "Uh, Superman?" He isn't quite shouting. But even a quick look around with a combination of x-ray and telescopic vision shows no bright red cape. "Kal? HELLO? ANYBODY?"

This is definitely Earth. Definitely Hawaii.

He isn't quite sure what to do now. So he starts flying towards Metropolis. Maybe Kal's there. Or someone at least.

"Where are you from? Japan?" Seems the most likely place.

"Yes, that's correct. And yourself?"

"...that's the million dollar question, isn't it?" Lab under California, Krypton, Smallville, Hawaii, there were a lot of places he could claim. "I live pretty close to Smallville." In the very house they were standing near, to be accurate, but hey, secret identities. Conner Kent might live with the Kents, Kon-El did not.

"Ah, is that so? I'm surprised we haven't met before. I have been here for close to a year. I live and work at the hospital."

The one she's pointing to. Which was probably not there when he last hung out with the Kents.

"Like I said, I've been dead for about two years and... huh. That's new." He frowned and looked over at it.

"Look, I don't suppose you know where I can find Clark Kent? He's a reporter so he'll want to cover the whole Superboy being back thing."

Oh yes, he is good at this secret ID thing. No one will EVER SUSPECT.

"That sounds very inconvenient," she comments. "Though I suppose it's good that you've managed to recover."

Hey, even if she's never known a human to come back, that doesn't mean it's impossible! OSes can be restored, so maybe other people can, too.

"I don't believe I've met anyone called Clark Kent. Certainly, there isn't anyone like that around the farm. Perhaps there is someone in the city who might know."

He just shrugs about the coming back from the dead thing. It happens. He's just glad it didn't stick.

"Yeah, that's where I was gonna check next. I just thought his parents lived here or something. I can fly to Metropolis pretty fast."

"That does sound very convenient. I have to rely on people with cars most of the time. Well, I hope you find the person you're looking for!"

"Uh yeah. Nice meeting you, um, Windows 95." That's still weird. He waves and takes off.

It doesn't take him very long to find himself floating over Metropolis and scanning the buildings with x-ray vision. He's also listening, trying to hear Kal's voice or something. But there are a lot of people around, and he doesn't know for sure Kal's even there.
