Spots has been growing. This isn't so surprising; things tend to grow. And his mommy, after all, was about the size of California.

But it takes food to grow. And he isn't getting enough, and he's huuuuuungry.

Slosh. Slosh. Slosh. This is a kraken about the size of a minibus, including tentacles, oozing up the slope towards the front door of the farm, large eyes fixed on the kitchen door.

"Agh, what the sprock?" Flash bang. One minute, he and Superman were getting ready to head back from the 30th century so that Kon could finally rejoin his friends and family after being dead of all things, and now he's... somewhere? He flies up to get a better view. Hawaii, apparently. Though it doesn't look like it did last time he was here. And Kal's nowhere in sight.

"How long was I dead?" he wonders aloud, looking around. "Uh, Superman?" He isn't quite shouting. But even a quick look around with a combination of x-ray and telescopic vision shows no bright red cape. "Kal? HELLO? ANYBODY?"

This is definitely Earth. Definitely Hawaii.

He isn't quite sure what to do now. So he starts flying towards Metropolis. Maybe Kal's there. Or someone at least.

Are you living on the farm? Are you passingly familiar to Windows 95?

THEN YOU ARE GETTING A SWEATER. NO, YOU DO NOT GET A SAY IN THIS. The pikachu and the crobat have somehow gotten wrangled into one each, and are trying to get used to this new thing a small distance away from the porch, where 95 is sitting and knitting, with a growing pile of knitted goods.

To redeem your sweater, please speak with any available representative. Which would be 95.

Bridgette sits on the porch of the Cooper farm, watching the earth bunker with a displeased frown. She holds a folded piece of paper in her hand. Every so often she glances at it and sighs heavily.

For once, Bridgette isn't even glancing about to keep an eye on Marie. She has an Important Issue to deal with!

Come help?

Hospital: Clean

Dynames: Clean

Having fulfilled her (self-imposed) daily tasks, Windows 95 is spending her non-chore-related downtime hanging out with Adorable AI Friend.

Or you could call it Guarding the Giant Robot, if you want to be a buzzkill.

(It is being guarded with rays of cuteness.)
[identity profile] selflesslight.livejournal.com
So you might have noticed there's a big ol' robot parked out back of the bunker at the Cooper farm. It's large and green and looks very battered.

Approach it, and one of two things happens.

Either you came during the day, and Val Bell is sitting on its head with a good book and a bowl of apples, or you came during the evening or night and it is apparently deserted. 'Apparently' being the key word.

What'll it be?

Sokka is Fixing The Kitchen Tap.

(It wasn't broken.)

This means that right now, there's a slowly-flowing stream of water out the kitchen door, but he's managed to actually seal the pipe. And in another half hour or so, the tap will be flowing better than before, heat up faster, and turn off easier.

It's just that right now it looks like chaos.

He may or may not be distracting himself from Other Things by lying on his stomach in an impromptu creek on the linoleum, but you'd never guess.

Having completed all her farm work for the day, Suki's decided that it's time to do some laundry. With so few clothes in her wardrobe, it's not a major chore. But it's a frequently necessary one. So, some time before dark, she can be found at the kraken pool hand-washing her small selection of pants and tops and underwear. If there's a washing machine inside somewhere, no-one has told her about it.

To ensure she's able to clean as much of her own stuff as possible, she's only wearing a sports bra and a pair of comfy plaid lounge pants that she claimed from the bunker cache to sleep in. The girl's from the Southern Earth Kingdom—November evenings in Kansas aren't cold by her standards.

Slosh slosh, scrub scrub scrub. She seems quite content in her task, to the point where she's actually singing softly to herself. Spots, however, is keeping his distance in case she inadvertently scrubs him too.

Cooper Farm:
Sonia is really not into this whole pregnancy thing. Not only has it required a total change in wardrobe and lessened activity, but it's been giving her such joys as indigestion, cramps, and similar indignities. Right now, she's sprawled under a tree, trying to stop up a nosebleed and hoping that this, too, is a normal thing and not some kind of horrible precursor to, say, the child being an inhuman fiend.

Windows 95 is, as usual, doing her thing in the hospital. Which, of late, has mainly involved finding new ways to keep the paperwork organized and accessible.

Pikachu has plonked itself down on the top of the bunker and is enjoying the weather and chewing on grass. It has a very simple, and very awesome life.

New York:
Laura has staked out a room in Gryffindor Tower, and is in the process of making several runs into the city to raid the convenience stores for snack food. Joy is having a big pile of candy bars and nobody to tell you not to eat them. (OK, nobody that you HAVE to listen to.)

Mudkip, despite all evidence to the contrary, is kind of brave enough to go on exploring runs. Kind of. He's timidly edging along buildings now, ready to duck inside and hide at the first sign of... anything.

Jessica is working on a bigger version of her map of the subway system as it is now, intended for mass consumption. (Well, "mass" as in "anyone in the common areas of the subway right now.") She'll be putting copies up over the old official maps once she's done (and has found the proper keys to open the display cases).

Kern is still pestering people over the subway PA. The recent difference, however, is that he's pestering in toddler English in addition to gibberish, rather than the parroted English and gibberish combo he'd been using. The language lessons are having an effect! (Whether the effect is wholly desirable is another story.)

Will has been exploring the castle and hasn't found a courtyard so he's in the Great Hall going through sword forms.

Tiwa doesn't like all the fighters around New York, she knows they're good at defending but not a lot of them seem very fun. At the moment, she's sitting on a fire escape somewhere in New York and eating an ice cream, she's really good at finding food.

Tumnus is around the farm, quietly watching people and sometimes playing his pipes.

(OOC: They're all due an EP so just say who you want in the tag.)

Angela is in the kitchen, writing, actually copying from a book. It's a rather large book. She borrowed it from the library in town.

She's taking carefully detailed notes about...butchering. Hey, you never know when things are going to get more screwed up, so she's leaving no stone unturned.

Though she is now strongly considering going vegetarian. She's glad she ate before this, because she is so not hungry right now.

And whoever you are, she'd most likely enjoy talking to you.

Or at least thinking of something else.
[identity profile] 95-tan.livejournal.com
OK, so nobody specifically told her to make shortcuts at the hospital so she can get around quickly. But then again, nobody told her not to. So that makes it allowed! Logically! And surely, nobody would protest to her being able to do her job more quickly, right? Right!

So she's been going about to various Important Places, touching a convenient landmark, and causing miniature snapshots of these places (with an arrow attached) to appear out of thin air. And then taking them back to the receptionist office for convenient use later.

THIS IS ALL, OF COURSE, COMPLETELY NORMAL AND NOT SOMETHING ANYONE ELSE WOULD REMARK UPON.

In Metropolis....

Eden McCain has a table to herself at a coffee shop - notebook papers are spread over it with titles like 'Main Character' and 'Subplot 1'. The great post-apocalyptic novel isn't going to get written any other way! She felt like dressing like a cliche artist - and is wearing a navy blue beret.

Tom Therin is whistling cheerfully to himself as he walks down the street, idly looking for pockets to pick.

On the Cooper farm....

Bridgette Dubois has a stuffed pony, a lion, and a unicorn in a semi-circle on the lawn to the Cooper house. "Whoever wants me to sing Lion King at the talent show, say aye!"

The stuffed animals are silent, but Bridgette - after checking on Marie, who claps her hands in agreement an area to her left - nods as if they actually spoke. "All right - how about Sound of Music?"

Oliver Wycliffe, dressed in white and looking thoughtful, is riding his stallion Beauregard down the road to the farm.

Dana, an extremely tired-looking young woman in ratty jeans and a T-shirt, is waiting nervously in front of the hospital, gnawing on her lip.

[ooc: Tag one, tag all, but please let me know which one you're tagging!]

95 is a busy bee today! She has obtained curtains, and fake flowers, and various knickknacks from the last shopping trip, and has been buzzing about the hospital all day decorating. Her chief focus has been the lobby, though everywhere from the offices to patient rooms to ICU to the morgue is getting treated for acute lack-of-sufficient-decoration.
[identity profile] sworntoalostgod.livejournal.com
Oliver is standing by his van on a certain morning. There are couch cushions in the back instead of hay and dung, and most of the horse smell is gone. Also in the back is a fresh first-aid kit, some blankets, bottles of water, and five hearty sandwich lunches.

In the front are a few books. Oliver anticipates much boredom in the mall at Jefferson City.

Now he's just waiting for people to arrive.
[identity profile] 95-tan.livejournal.com
Oh, it is grand to feel useful! 95 has spent the past several days cleaning up the hospital and generally puttering around cheerily. There isn't a whole lot of paperwork to be done just now, but still! She has Tasks! Joy!

Kate wanted to get a car so she could get back and forth to Metropolis and the farm easier. But in the meantime, she was doing discreet patrols around the farm. Just casually walking around, and keeping her keen senses alert.

------

Xander was still working on getting the plumbing and bathrooms set up for people around the farm. Party was nice, but now it's back to work.

------

Somewhere on the North American continent, in between supply runs for the farm, Nathan was keeping an eye out as he flew overhead. Looking for stranded arrivals, places willing to trade, or anything else of note.

------

Maria was walking along heading toward Smallville. She heard something about Metropolis, and she missed living in New York.

------

Scully was doing better with her first trimester, much of the morning sickness had passed, and there was now a hospital near the grounds. So she had headed inside to check the medicines, and facilities. The morgue especially looked in good shape.

The theme of Bridgette's tenth birthday is 'Disney Princess meets crazy artist'.

The Cooper farm has balloons out front. Inside the living room are streamers made of colourful paper. Bridgette's drawings are tacked up along the walls - which includes everything from unicorns and rainbows to red and pink lumps being gnawed on by black birds and cemeteries with hands poking out of the ground. Bridgette herself walks around with a fairy princess wand, waving it and twirling every few steps.

Bridgette has set up a "PRESENTS HERE! (and my sister is guarding it if you steal)" sign on one of the couches. One wall in the Cooper living room has Pin the Tail on the Donkey on it, and on a table there's Monopoly with a lot of hotels already on the board. Bridgette will every so often sneak over to the Monopoly board and add a few more hotels to it (they're her hotels, naturally).

Since this is a sunny day, there are outside entertainments as well. Outside, there is a lonely pinata with a bag of candy beside it. Bridgette meant to get that set up sometime, but eating candy distracted her. Oliver Wycliffe is also outside, with his horse Beauregard. He got roped into promising Bridgette a horsie ride. If someone else desperately wants to ride Beau, he'll certainly oblige.

Come one, come all, to Bridgette's birthday party!

House has a hospital now.

If you want him, he'll be inside, limping around inspecting things. Any expired meds get thrown in the trash. He's also got a list of machines that need looking-at. Wherever Fluffy Teleportation Guy got this place, he's impressed. The building is small but well equipped.

And he's already got an eye on the great big administrator's office. There is a wheely chair.

It's the middle of the afternoon when a figure appears in the distance, not far from the Cooper farm.

Two figures, actually!

One is a tiger.

The other is a man, sitting on said tiger.

It's taken them three days, but they made it.

COME SAY HI!
