There are three places you might find Lucy today:

1. Flying away from the Cooper farm, carrying an empty sack, glossy black wings flapping industriously as she heads directly for the nearest source of pears.

2. Flying toward the Cooper farm, carrying a sack of pears, paying more attention to the ground and her surroundings and flying a little slower now that her mission is complete.

3. Sitting in the kitchen of the Cooper farmhouse, human-shaped, munching on a tasty fresh pear with the rest piled high in a very large bowl on the table in front of her.

Sokka has been back at the farm for over a month now. He's spent nearly every waking moment with his nieces and when he isn't with them, with his girlfriend and sister - not necessarily at the same time, but you get it. He isn't alone. Maybe he makes sure of it, maybe they do, maybe it's a joint effort.

But he's never alone.

Even now, he's got a twin in one hand as he walks into the kitchen. Both girls are doing well with their walking but Hana is a lot more adamant about doing her walking right now and with no help.

Though she tolerates holding her uncle's hand well as she toddles her way into the kitchen.

"Loose!" Hana insists, pointing her free hand at the human-shaped pear-eater.

Hana beams and looks up at her uncle, pointing again. "Loose!" she informs him.

Sokka nods solemnly. "I see."

"Loose!" Hana insists, with a hint of grumpy.

Her uncle grins and waves at Lucy with his free hand. "Hi, Lucy."

"Hana prides herself on being the socialite of the farm," Sokka replies, beaming proudly at his niece. "Or not."

"Yes," Hana insists, looking up at him.

Grinning, Sokka nods and holds out a hand. "Yeah, sure. From your latest trip?"

"Awesome."

Sokka approves of getting first pick of fresh fruit. Even if catching the pear gets Hana to gripe at him for sharing.

"How've you been?" Sokka asks, cutting into the pear with his knife while Hana attaches herself to his leg impatiently.

"Good."

It's an automatic response, but an automatic response given with a smile as he hands his niece a few slices of pear.

Which are then nommed on slurpily and happily.

"How about you, Han?"

"Goo!"

Sokka and Lucy would have words if not for that strikeout. But he's grinning, too.

So is Hana, for that matter. But that's because she has a delicious pear.
