Do you know what is awesome?

BUBBLES is awesome.

No, really. See, someone looted (Dinah and Zinda) a factory's worth of liquid soap and sent vast amounts to the farm. Someone else (Steph) knew where to get glycerol and what happens when you add water, liquid siap and glyercol together. And someone else (Sokka) fashioned a bunch of wands of various sizes.

Although, actually, the tennis racket is Loo's favourite.

Mel, Loo and Hana are all out on the grass between bunker and farmhouse with a huge bucket of bubble mix, making a moderate mess.

Bubbles are awesome. Join them.

Sokka lifts it over his head (not all the way, just enough out of Loo's reach) and continues putting bubbles around Mel's head solemnly.

See? He can do FrozenExpression-TryingNotToLaugh just as good.

Sokka is not really more physically -er than most uncles, but he still manages not to look too perturbed about being climbed (though his free hand is making sure Loo's feet don't kick anything but his hip). He leans to the side as she climbs him at about a forty-five degree angle and focuses on putting bubbles in Mel's hair instead.

"No, I'm okay, thanks."

"Nope. I'm good."

Two twins + already existing crazy angles = uncle on the ground.

With his arm sticking straight up in the air, still holding the trigger.

And losing the Don't Smile game when he starts laughing at them. "They're going to be really disappointed when they get it. It's about half a second from running out of soap."

"I'm never out of amoOOF!"

Once the wind's been knocked out of him, Sokka abandons the bubble gun. He has other things to do - like grab hold of the girls with a big scary growl and tickle them into submission.

Well, it wouldn't be any fun if they were really scared. Which is why Hana is bundled up in one arm against his stomach and further tickled, while Loo is grabbed by her shirt and dragged back into the cuddle pile.

It's important to spend quality wrestling time with family, you know.

Lying on his back now, Sokka keeps one arm wrapped around Hana, occupying her attention with further tickles and cuddles. In order to look at Loo, he has to tilt his head back at a somewhat uncomfortable angle, which means he's looking at her upside-down.

And frowning as deeply as possible, still holding the back of her shirt.

"What toy? I don't see a toy."

[identity profile] notanoptimist.livejournal.com 2010-03-11 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Sokka grins. Because if Loo starts crying for lack of toy now, it's totally not his fault.

"Oh, that toy!" he exclaims, suddenly seeing the light - and tugging on the back of Loo's shirt again. Not hard, just trying to annoy her. "I think Mom just stole it from me. You know how she is, Loo, always stealin' stuff."

And since Mom will be in trouble now, Sokka takes the opportunity to let out another war cry/growl and tackle Hana for continued tickles.

Sokka has mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, the girls should be proud of their mom. On the other, their excitement about stealing things is worrying.

And hitting things.

And running out and doing dangerous things.

These thoughts have him frowning slightly over at his sister, which means the tickles slow down momentarily - but they don't stop, of course.

Closing his eyes works to protect them from bubble-mixture. Laughing, however, does not keep it out of his mouth.

Which means that Sokka is now spluttering and releasing Loo so he can hold Hana up as a bubble-shield.

[identity profile] notanoptimist.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, that also means that Hana has nothing to occupy her attention now.

So obviously, Sokka has no choice but to lift her over his hand and gasp, big eyes and open mouth in perfect SURPRISE face.

"Oh no! What happened?!"

[identity profile] notanoptimist.livejournal.com 2010-03-16 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Excuse me," Sokka informs her snootily, frowning and continuing to toss Hana up and down in the air. "That question was not for Mom."

If Hana ever stops screaming with glee, he'd put the question to her again.

Though his snootiness is ruined when he gets a look at his niece's face and bursts into laughter with her.
