There's a woman hanging around the Coopers' living room.

Yes, she looks like that.

Yes, she's dressed like that.

What? This is a good place to pick up boys! (Inanna discovered that yesterday.)

"'llo," he remembers to add.

"Hey," she returns cheerily.

Likes movement, does he?

See? (Stretching is so fun. And such a perfectly innocent activity. Yes.)

Tom moves as well! Taking a step into the room. Then another. Best to be polite and come closer to the person you're talking to, right?

"Name's...Tom." Please don't ask for the surname - he barely remembered that part.

"Cassandra." It goes with the hair, in some indefinite fashion.

"You new? I ain't seen you 'round before. An' when I was here, weren' so many folks."

Tom struggles to keep his language clean to impress her.

"Yeah, new."

Easier than explaining. Inanna's comfortable with these little lies.

There are other couches in the living room, right? (Suddenly remembering the floor plan of the Cooper place is so difficult!) Tom has the vague idea that he shouldn't stand by her couch like an idiot.

So he manages to tear his gaze away from her long enough to glance around.

There's an armchair right close by!

And, y'know, plenty of space on the couch beside her.

She doesn't look like she'd be particularly put out if he occupied some of that space.

But Tom is from a society where you're not supposed to sit by women on first meeting! So he sits in the armchair.

(Apparently oggling women on first meeting is just fine.)

"...So...." Give him a minute.

"So...?" she prompts.

C'mon, Tom. Get to the good part already.

It's been a long time since he asked this, Tom realizes.

"How much d'you charge?"

"I don't."

Take offense? Please. Not a chance.

If it's been a long time since Tom asked this, it's been a long time since Tom had a women. (Janelle doesn't count. That was weird.)

"I'm one of the lucky few got a room in this kip," Tom boasts, getting to his feet and giving her a gesture to do the same.

'Oh, hey, would you like to see it?' is too obvious to need to be said. Tom has some dignity.

Inanna's cool with obvious!

She follows.

What comes next is... well, to be frank, obvious.
