Sokka is contemplating the road to Smallville. Town! People! And more importantly ... SHOPPING!

But he's not sure they'd accept Fire Nation money here, and that's all he has.

Plus ... Sokka's basically a lazy person. And it's a long way to walk.

There's SRS THINKY going on here, as he stands out the front of the farmhouse with hands in pockets.

"That's a doughnut," Layla explains. "It's very good. Try it."

"It's pink," Sokka says, doubtfully. "I don't know."

"It tastes like kool-aid. Only with dough."

OMNOMNOMNOMNOM!

"...mmmph. Dofhh tphoo. Gphm. Thif worldff shfo gfood!"

"Glad you like it. It's made from monkey brains."

"I don't believe you this time." Sokka licks his fingers happily and flicks a speck of icing at her. "Anyway, I like monkey brains."

Or he would if he knew what a monkey was.

Layla looked at him skeptically.

"Do you even know what a monkey is?"

She knew he didn't. She just wanted to see what he'll say next.

"Well..."

Sokka looks shifty.

"I know what a pigmonkey is!"

"Great. Subtract the pig and you'll have it," Layla replied. "Would you like some sweetbreads?"

No. Layla wasn't walking toward the bread section.

Luckily, Sokka knows what that is.

"I think I'll stick with my doughnut," he says, following her anyway. "What do you mean, subtract the pig? That doesn't make any sense."

"Here we have pigs and monkeys," Layla replied. "Not a combination of the two."

And since they were at the butcher part of the store Layla pointed at the full pig in the display case.

"See? Pig."

Sokka stares at it.

"...it's like half a pigmonkey! That's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen!"

Layla then points at the chicken in the window.

Granted it's cleaned up and everything but...

"That's a chicken. Just a chicken. Nothing else."

She tilts her head at Sokka. "They still taste good though."

Sokka is busy flailing at the FREAKY HALF-ANIMALS, THANKS.

"That's only half a pigchicken! This is SO BIZARRE!"

"You realize that your world is the one with bizarre stuff. I mean really. Pigchickens?"

"Pigchickens are perfectly normal!"

"Says you!"

"Yeah, says me," Sokka confirms. "And I'm older than you, so I'm right."

HA.

"You're not THAT much older than me," Layla retorts as she crosses her arms. "Plus I know more than you."

"I'm lots older than you," Sokka says, with no idea of whether it's true or not. "And freaky knowing-stuff-about-people's-personal-business doesn't count."

"I'm fifteen," Layla glared. "And it SO does count."

Sokka is also fifteen.

Damn. He thought she was Toph's age.

(She acts Toph's age.)

"...no it doesn't. Knowing stuff doesn't count unless you had to actually learn it. Creepy definitely doesn't count."

And that would be a kick going to Sokka's shin.

"Don't call me creepy!"

She totally acts Toph's age.

Sokka yelps and glares at her.

"You are creepy! You talk about things nobody's s'posed to know!"

And he'd totally kick her back if she wasn't a girl. SO THERE.

Layla is know clenching her fists. "I just know stuff! Just because you can't handle it doesn't make it creepy!"
