Eden is looking pretty. Her sunburn is gone, she has makeup on, and is wearing a form-fitting copper dress with a silver belt. Her feet are bare - she'd rather go bare-foot than wear her sneakers or flip-flops. Eden has committed many crimes, but fashion crimes aren't one of them.
She's looking for an owner of a certain carwho's not Gabriel, because no, okay?. Is he by the pool? Is he in the bunker? Is he on the boat? Is he in the house? Eden will look.
Who does she find?

Who does she find?

...or ever, really.
He's on the way back to the house from the kraken's pool with a distractedly fond smile on his face. Spots will do that.

The frown deepens when she looks up and sees Gabe.
The frown vanishes once the difference between this Gabe and his teenage counterpart become apparent. She wets her lips and takes a step back.
"Don't come any closer."
No, Eden really doesn't care what any Gabriel thinks of her.

It won't move forward.
Several thoughts collide at once, the end result of which is Gabriel going very, very white and backpedalling with remarkable speed.
"I'mnotthatonepleasedon'thurtme," he exclaims all in a rush. He should've asked the other him for better descriptions of these people. What if she doesn't believe him? What if she orders him to-- he doesn't know, can't even think of what might happen. Too afraid and too busy backing away with his hands raised in surrender.

Eden looks at him, her frown slowly returning. If it's a disguise, it's a good one. He even looks...younger, doesn't he? She needs a picture of Sylar - with Gabe and now this one, the real Sylar's features are blurring in her head.
She offers no consolation that she won't hurt him.

"Please believe me; I'm not--"
He can't finish the sentence; he's shaking too hard. She's going to kill him. She's going to think he's lying and order him to-- Gabriel doesn't know; there's so many ways this could end badly for him, he can't even make his whirling thoughts settle on one. Bizarrely, all he can think is a fervent wish for Steve to come and rescue him. Steve will know what to do.

This drops when she sees somebody apparently threatening Steve's new
boyfriendbuddy."Hey!"
She tenses, ready to armour up at any second, and jogs towards the two of them.
"Lady! The hell's your problem?"
Anyone who can reduce a guy almost as tall as Marley to a wibbling wreck is bad news, in her opinion.

"Relax," she tells Val, gaze switching to Gabe, waiting for him to make a run for it. "I just need to get a few things straight."
no subject
"She can make people do things," he babbles to Val, jerking his head in Eden's direction in a rather redundant indication of who he's talking about. "Please, help-- I think she's going to kill me."
He's been backing slowly away this whole time, but the idea of making a real run for it just hasn't penetrated his fear-addled brain.

Make people do things. Ouch. Still, she'll give Eden the benefit of the doubt for now. She doesn't know Gabriel that well.
Her jog took her almost between the two before she was stopped by Eden's look. It doesn't take much to step into the widening gap between Eden and Gabe and fold her arms.
"Anything you need to get straight, you can do it from over there," she says with forced pleasantness. "And if you're using mind control on Gabe here, I'd like you to stop, pretty please."
Threatening someone who can control people is unfathomably stupid even for the reckless Valerie, so she doesn't do it. But she's definitely putting on the famous Bell protective glare.

It just looks like a blob.

Thus, she feels a bit embarrassed at the "Shit!" she yelps as she hurries backwards.
"What the hell?!" she demands, tone warring between anger and surprise.

"People have better things to do than stare at their feet! If you want to sleep, there's a couch in the house, beds in the bunker, and a cabin in the ship. God."

The Company paid her to be nice and subtle and friendly to other people with abilities. Eden can't help but wonder what Mr. Bennet would think if he saw her now.
