Jamie's taking it easy today at the Cooper Farm. He's commandeered the living room and has set up a portable DVD player to play some of his more favorite "noir-ish" films. Cold beer and a giant bowl of chips and dip are at hand for some serious snacking and responsible drinking.

Yep. This is the way to kick back.

Iroh has yet to discover the entrancing power of the television. That's why he pauses as he comes out of the kitchen with a steaming cup of tea.

And staaaaaaares.

"You a Bogart fan too?" Jamie asked as he took a swig of beer. "Best actor of his generation. Almost any generation really. Grab some real estate on the couch if you want to watch."

Still looking dazed, Iroh moves woodenly to sit on the couch. "What is this?" he asks vaguely.

"The Maltese Falcon," Jamie replied. "Classic movie. Or did you mean the whole TV thing?"

"I... I think I was asking about the latter." Though maybe the light-emitting box is a Maltese Falcon... It is a rather grand name.

Jamie pointed at the TV. "That is called a TV. It can receive images from... well a lot of complicated scientific means. It's how we normally see entertainment. Like what it is showing now which is the Maltese Falcon. I take it you are not from this world either?"

"No, no," Iroh somehow manages to smile kindly at Jamie without looking away from the TV. "We do not have such things where I am from."

"Well you have plays and acting though, right?" Jamie asked. "It's the same thing. Except it's in a box in your home."

"How do the actors fit inside the little box?" Iroh's brow furrows in curiosity.

"Oh those aren't real people in there," Jamie replied. "That's just a recording of their images being played back."

Iroh blinks. "I am not sure I understand." That's Iroh-speak for "WTF!?"

Jamie thought about that for a second. "Think of it as a painting that moves and talks back a recorded moment of time."

"..." Iroh says eloquently. Then, "That is a very odd thing to think."

"Technology can be a wonderful thing," Jamie replied. "Most of the times."

"I suppose," Iroh muses. "But the tea still tastes the same."

"Well you got to have some constants, right?"

"Yes," Iroh grins, "And it is extremely fortunate that tea is one of them. Would you care for some?" Because Iroh will be glad to get some more!

"Not for me thanks," Jamie said holding up his beer. "Another time maybe."

"Your loss," Iroh grins and settles back with his own tea for now. "Now that I am pretending that there are actors in the tiny box, what is it that we are watching?"

The chips smell good, Will's not sure if he's up for beer again and stops to gape at the dvd player.

"Think of it as paintings that move and talk," Jamie said quickly having already gone through this with Iroh.

"Ye mean like tapesteries?" Painting is still mainly for churches in Will's time."

"Sure. Tapesteries if that works for you."

"Oh aye, food smells good, dinna think I know those."

Will gives a small question as he reaches for some chips and settles down gingerly on the couch.
