Valerie Bell is uncharacteristically pensive.

Possibly this is because she just lugged a woman with a bullet wound in her stomach all the way here from God only knows where.

Possibly not.

Either way, she's staring at a plateful of cookies with considerably more rapt attention than a plateful of cookies strictly warrants.

He just gives a shrug and finishes eating his sandwich, not sure what else to say.

Val isn't sure what to say, either.

Funny how that works.

"Thanks for the beer," she says. For the third time.

...well, it's something?

"Is that other red 'ead who's 'ere yer brother, the one who brought the squid thing?"

"Yeah."

Grin.

"That's Steve."

Happyface for Steve.

"'avena spoken to 'im, but ye two look bit alike though 'e seems to spend lots o'time with that other tall fellow."

"Yeah, Gabe's helping him take care of the squid."

AND THEY'RE TOTALLY NOT HAVING THE SLOPPY MAKEOUTS IN GABE'S BUNKER ROOM WHUT.

"Where'd they find it?"

Will does not know of make outs and any make out like sounds he attributes to Val and Marley.

Val and Marley, strangely, haven't spent a whole lot of time making out in the bunkers.

Possibly because they've been making out in the Cooper living room instead.

"California."

"Where's that?"

Geography, Will has no idea and again, he only know of Val and Marley making out so that's who he assumes.

"West."

She nods in the appropriate direction.

"They were on the coast."

"Oh aye, is that far from 'ere?"

"Bit of a hike, yeah."

"So 'e can fly too?"

"Steve's got a jetpack. I carried Gabe."

"Jetpack, na sure what that is but sounds useful."

"Thing he flies with. He built it. Stevie's the genius twin."

And Val's the rude twin, but she figures Will can riddle that one out all by himself.

"Oh aye, ye must be a dangerous combination then."

"It's been said."

Will's sandwich is finished and so is his beer,

"Aye, will 'ave to talk to 'im sometime then."

"Yeah. If anybody in this dump can figure out where to get you a sword or a bow, Stevie's probably it."

"I'll 'member that, well 'ave a good day an be ware o'the wood."

Then he grabs a cookie since they look tasty and so far Val isn't annoyed with him, so good point to leave.

"You too. Yeah, I'll do that."
