There's a cloud of silvery-green light circling the Cooper settlement. It's come a long way, to say the least, since when Joe arrived he was all the way in the Himalayas, shivering, and no amount of stern talk could make the cold and snow retreat for more than three minutes at a time.

A creepy, deserted town or two later, he's floating around the Cooper place. It, at least, seems neither creepy nor deserted, just a little strange.

The light-mist-thing resolves into a shape, sitting on top of the house, and then takes on sharp features and darkens until there's a young man with very messy dark hair and rather unnervingly bright eyes peering downwards. He'll just wait until somebody comes along to ask about stuff.

"Eh, you're young yet. Give it time."

"Um aye, course, 'ow old are ye?"

"Also still young."

"Tisna a real answer though cause ye could be from a place where ye look young while actually livin' a long time. I'm seventeen summers myself."

"But answers are so boring if they're real." Grinning.

"Aye, I guees so." Will's just going to drink his beer for now.

"I'm a touch older than I look," Joe admits. "Okay?"

"Fair 'nough."

"Is that common in your world or are you just luring me into a false sense of security so that you can fetch a pitchfork?"

"Tisna my world or time 'ere anyway an I dinna care, e'eryone seems to 'ave a gift a some sort, I'm one o'the few that doesna."

"Oh, well, fair enough then."

"Aye, oh an tis beds in the earth 'ouse thing an dinna go swimmin' in the pool, 'as a squid thing in it."

"I'll keep that in mind."

"Aye, well I'll leave ye to get settled then."

"It was nice meeting you, Will."
