Long and meaningful discussions have taken place on the subject of ham.
Yes, ham. Ham and its place in the diet of a growing krakenbaby.
Fortunately, there was plenty of ham in the farmhouse kitchen. But in a post-apocolyptic world, who's to say how long the ham will last? There are the number of pigs to think about, as well as whether a sustainable population can be re-established, and storage (a fridge here, but who's to say whether electricity has survived elsewhere?), and a host of other things.
Well, this is the point... one of the points... one of the many points at which Stephen's motto is: experiment!
A sausage is being dangled curiously into the murky water.

"Yes! Hello. Good to meet you."
Crouching down with a raw sausage in one hand isn't the greatest way to shake hands, but Stephen's going to try it nonetheless, smiling up at Will.

"Aye, always good to know folks round 'ere. What are ye feedin'..Spots?"

"Sausage, at the moment, but I'm trying him with different things." From his pocket he fishes little bits of bacon, chicken, goose, wrapped in clingfilm. "Want to give him some?"

Though Will does kneel down to sit, he's been moving all morning, nice to rest for a moment.

If she's shown Will her powers, that should be all the explanation he needs to give; if not, then he hasn't given anything away that she doesn't want told. Everybody wins!

in time for the next thread down...He glances at the water, to make sure he hasn't overlooked any maurauding tentacles, and straightens up. (Sorry, Spots. He isn't abandoning you, promise!)
"Come to the bunker and I'll show you it, eh?"

Jetpacks are new and interesting and much better then a kraken, Will stands up, he's a good bit slower then Steve though.

Hygiene shmygiene! He also gives Will a rather technobabbly running commentary on how Steve designed and constructed it himself, and how it's solar-powered (and, if Will asks, a breakdown of what this in fact means), and how by the way has he met Gabe? because he's brilliant with this kind of thing, and please look with your eyes and not your hands and there it is, what do you think?
(It's carefully propped on Steve's bed in the manner of a treasured museum piece, and it's shiny.)
