Long and meaningful discussions have taken place on the subject of ham.
Yes, ham. Ham and its place in the diet of a growing krakenbaby.
Fortunately, there was plenty of ham in the farmhouse kitchen. But in a post-apocolyptic world, who's to say how long the ham will last? There are the number of pigs to think about, as well as whether a sustainable population can be re-established, and storage (a fridge here, but who's to say whether electricity has survived elsewhere?), and a host of other things.
Well, this is the point... one of the points... one of the many points at which Stephen's motto is: experiment!
A sausage is being dangled curiously into the murky water.

Stephen will gladly peruse it with him whenever he wishes!Human flesh?
...Um. No comment.
"That can only be a good thing," is Steve's opinion of Gabe's success in the non-people-eating area. "You don't want to eat human flesh, now, do you? No! You're a good little baculite, yes you are."
(It's probably self-evident which of the two recieves that second part.)

Um. Good God, even his NARRATION is blushing."As I said, he's improving."
With a soft little smile, Gabriel walks around to crouch at Steve's right side. This mean his left hand can - after he's checked to make sure no-one's looking - fondly ruffle that adorably curly red hair, while his right hand absently pats Spots' determinedly cuddling tentacles.

"You haven't been a parent before, eh?" No worries, it's delivered as a joke. It's merely a comment on how you seem to have taken to bringing up a baculite like, well, like Spots takes to water.

D'aww. What an adorable family scene: father, father, and kraken.
...Um.
Slightly nontraditional, perhaps.
But certainly incredibly loving.

(...it requires considerable shifting of stance to bring Steve into a position where he can reach said cheek, but still: loving!)
Happily: "No arguments here."

GIANT BLUSH ALERT!
Also, grin.
Also, immediate looking-around to see if anyone noticed.
Nobody did.
Second grin!
And Steve gets kissed on the cheek right back.
:D?
