Sam was, really, not as perturbed by suddenly being transported to another world as he probably should've been. While a new situation, he knew that he had to get to the nearest bar, or at least the nearest settlement that had doors.
A week after going from city to city and trying out doors, he's both a little depressed by the lack of success and even more depressed by the fact that everything seems to be wrecked, and the amount of alive people seems to be unnervingly small.
Then he started following the seagulls. The seagulls, obviously, would know what to do.
That's why there's somebody moving very fast towards the Cooper settlement, trailing golden light behind him. He stops when he reaches the front door, the little aura dissipating as he peers around. Maybe there will be people here. If not, he'll check out the big nearby city.

A pause. He may be trying to see if Will has anything good to steal - After all, both his parents are thieves. They made a good effort at instilling certain values in him.

Slowly Will stands up and heads towards the kitchen, pulling out some bread and cheese as he he hands Sam a beer,
"So where are ye from then, Sam?"

Beat.
"Oh! Thanks for the ... ale? I think?"

The explosions comment gets a laugh from Will,
"Oh aye, they can be good. So is Dantooine a country or a city?"
no subject
"... Er, neither? 'S a planet. Big and farmy and very boring."

The bandage on his wrist gets a twist as Will drinks down his beer.

Pause.
"I should build one!"

"Something that's built to duplicate actions of something living. Like a machine," she said as she nodded, "Hi Will, and hello, are you new?"

"Oh aye, sounds terrifyin', ye wish for a beer, Kate? Also makin' some sandwiches."

She then offered her hand to Sam, "I'm Kate Bishop." No point in using her new identity when she's in another world all together.

"Ye said yer parents were also thieves, Sam, much call for that on Dantooine?"

He keeps the shiny objects for himself.

"I try. Though I've actually done that too, giving food to those who most need it? Even before I decided to be a superhero, I was helping charity organizations. I would work in the soup kitchens to make sure those who didn't have enough were able to get a good meal, and nourishment into them. I'd also worked with the women's shelters."

The pile of sandwiches is starting to wobble slightly so Will stops and offers them first to Kate.

She added, "My country of America's more prosperous, and we have programs to help the poor. But it's not enough, and many are just swept aside and ignored, either most people not wanting to face there is a problem, or think that such people brought it upon themselves." Flickers of anger in her blue eyes on the last sentence.
