Look, up on the roof!

It's black and white!

It's drooling!

It's Venom! A rather bored-looking Venom, judging from his posture. He's perched atop one of the roof's corners and peering around, attempting to spot anything particularly interesting and failing thus far.

"We'll find something to amuse ourselves with eventually," he says, seeming to be talking to no one at all. "Even if there aren't any fairies around here, we should be able to find something else richly deserving a lesson in letting the innocent be. All we must do is wait."

He returns to peering around the Cooper farm, still looking for something that's more interesting than monologuing.

Sam stumbles towards Venom, fingers sparking as he attempts to use his powers and finds that they have, rather inconveniently, cut out.

The failed attempt just makes Venom grin even larger than normal. "You seem to have a problem." And then he swings a fist towards Sam's head.

"Seems so." Sam is rather annoyed that they couldn't have cut out at a more convenient time.

That doesn't mean he's going to call of the sparring, however, even if that punch did send him stumbling (as much as he can when web lined) and really hurts.

Venom tilts his head to the side. "And you want to keep going?" This is Venom being polite. If it was a normal fight, he'd just continue gleefully beating on Sam.

Sam considers this. On the one hand, if his powers return he'll be able to make a good comeback, and there's a good chance they might. On the other hand, right now he's a regular human, and Venom is superpowered.

"Yeah, sure. Don't see why not. I'll heal up quickly."

Venom shrugs, sounding cheerful again. "Your choice!" Then he yanks on the webline again, planning to drag Sam in for another punch.

Sam is dragged, stumbling towards Venom.

He uses the momentum to help throw a punch towards Venom's face. This time, his strength is entirely human, not abnormal in any way.

Average human strength or not, getting hit in the face isn't that pleasant, and Venom grunts.

Sam is quite pleased by this.

He moves to try to kick Venom next.

The kick connects-prompting another grunt-but it also has the side effect of annoying Venom. With a growl, he swings at Sam, aiming for his head once more.

Sam leans out of the way, not quite fast enough to avoid a glancing blow that elicits a rather pained grunt.

Venom's attentions turn from punching to reeling Sam in again-while putting Sam closer to himself means he'll likely get hit more, he still has strength and a healing factor on his side. "Tired of being punched yet? Or shall we continue?"

"Let's continue. There's always the chance I could make a surprise comeback and kick your arse." Sam gives Venom a lopsided grin, throwing a punch towards towards his stomach.

"We can't help but notice the slight problem with your powers, though," Venom says as he gets hit, grunting. With a growl, he swipes back, finally deciding to use his claws. Sam said he'd heal, didn't he?

"They might come back. They usually - ..." He breaks off into a string of swearing as the claws make long, if rather shallow by virtue of Sam moving away, gashes.

He throws another punch towards Venom's abdomen, moving forward to headbutt him.

"We can't help but note the word 'might'," Venom says before he finds himself taking another hit to abdomen. The king of defense, Venom is not. He swipes again as Sam comes forward, hoping the close range will work to his advantage.

"Admittedly, it's a very -" Sam is momentarily cut off by the swipe, which makes rather deeper gashes than the last. "Small chance." His breathing is somewhat ragged.

"We're noticing." He holds off for the moment, noticing the ragged breathing. "Are you done, or can we keep trying to fillet you?"

Sam considers this for quite a while.

"We're done." Eventually, reluctantly. "Until I'm healed and my powers come back. Then I want a rematch."

Venom laughs. "Not satisfied with being punched, chewed, and shredded once? That's fine by us." His head tilts a bit in curiosity. "How long will it take you to heal?"

"Well, assuming I get all my abilities back in less than twenty-four hours, probably a few days? A week tops."

He nods at that. "We can wait for a rematch. We're sure we can find something else here to amuse ourselves with...somewhere." He still considers the farm to be rather dull, but at least he has more sparring to look forward to.

"Build a massive house out of lego. That's always fun." Sam grins, wandering away.
