Look, up on the roof!

It's black and white!

It's drooling!

It's Venom! A rather bored-looking Venom, judging from his posture. He's perched atop one of the roof's corners and peering around, attempting to spot anything particularly interesting and failing thus far.

"We'll find something to amuse ourselves with eventually," he says, seeming to be talking to no one at all. "Even if there aren't any fairies around here, we should be able to find something else richly deserving a lesson in letting the innocent be. All we must do is wait."

He returns to peering around the Cooper farm, still looking for something that's more interesting than monologuing.

"Because we are a we."

Well, it makes sense to him.

"Multiple personalities?" Not so weird.

"A personality per species, but we think it's the whole that's really important."

"You're...two species?" Thomas scratches at his head, his arms never leaving his sides.

Venom's permagrin some how manages to grow wider. "Symbiosis is a wonderful thing, in our opinion."

"Like, some kind of parasite, right?" Thomas shakes his head, eyes closed. "wow."

"Not a parasite," Venom says, sounding outright annoyed at that. "A symbiote."

Granted, most of the symbiotes are parasites, but that'd just make things more complex.

"Okay, so, uh..." He opens one eye, peering at Venom again. "Why the spider on yer chest?"

"It's a marking we happen to like-and a reminder of how our roots came from that wretched Spider-Man." He snarls at the mention of Spider-Man, managing to fling more drool onto the roof.

"Spider-man?" Thomas tilts his head, first one way, then the other. "Okay, I've finally heard a name even worse then The great and Powerful Turtle."

"We never said it was a good name," Venom points out.

"So whats yer beef with him?" Gotta be something juicy.

"He ruined us to begin with. And since then, he's largely been a thorn in our side. We would say that he might not be the worst, but he is the most constant. And while it seems that he, too, does manage to protect the innocent despite himself, and we have worked with him...we still aren't happy to do so."

"Uh-huh." Thomas leans back, frowning. "So, typical hero villain thing?"

"We are not a villain," Venom says, sounding downright offended. "Perhaps we have committed some acts that might be frowned upon, but they were done for the greater good. We exist to protect the innocent, not harm them."

"What do you consider innocent?" Yey, philosophy.

"Children, the downtrodden, those who cannot defend themselves and are abused by others-before we were brought here, we defended a group of the homeless in San Francisco."

"Huh." Damnit. "A real do gooder, right?"

"We like to think so," Venom says, sounding pleased with himself. "We don't think that the fact that others might frown on our methods makes our work any less charitable."

"Your, uh, methods?" This sounds dubious at best.

"We can be just a tad more violent than your average hero. But we find it works well."

A tad is putting it lightly, but this is Venom talking.

Great, a violent headcase. "Well, let me know when you guys take off, right?"

He wouldn't be Venom if he wasn't!

Venom nods. "We will. The more the merrier," he says, sounding amused. The prospect of wreaking havoc in a group sounds like a grand old time, particularly if they can get a large group.
