Xander was currently not a happy guy. This was now two end of the world places he's been to, and BOTH have to have the messed up version of his oldest friend. First the vampire version, and now scary veiny black magic Willow was here. This was not good. He was already trying to find some yellow crayons, and hoping she didn't find some old temple to destroy the world with.

In the meantime, he was on the farm, and scavenging pieces of wood for more chests to build.

"I'm also a handy kind of guy." For fixing windows, staking vampires, supplying wisecracks.

He's also not a very proper kind of guy, and from a very laidback area of the US, namely SoCal.

"Oh? How so?"

It's possible Oliver just said that because he has no idea what 'handy guy' means. Slang is hard.

Xander shrugged, "Never heard of handyman? Another name for carpenter. Need to bring you up to speed on the lingo. You from a long time ago or just out of the town?"

"From a long time ago, I believe. My land has no," Oliver has to pause to remember the word farmer John told him, "electricity, merely gas-lamps. It is one example among many."

"Yeah, that's really long ago. Only no galaxy far far away to go with it."

Xander then realized, "But you wouldn't know that, and never mind." He's yammering again.

"You might explain it, if you wish," Oliver replies agreeably.

"I could, but I'd need a tv and dvd player. And the only one around with the magical mojo for whipping them up is currently crazy and evil."

Oliver's look is one of polite confusion until....

"There's someone evil here that has magic?"

He's still confused, but now there's alarm mixed in there.

"Whoa, hold on to your horse there. Uh literally."

Xander immediately waved his hands in front of him, "She's usually not like this. She's a lot better, just came from a bad time, but it'll be ok. I just need to talk her down somehow... Oh wait, Giles had to give her something first. ...Damn, really could use the G-man's help about now..." He seemed to be getting lost in his thoughts a little.

Beauregard does not appreciate that remark! ...Actually, all he does is bend down to start chew at some new spring grass.

Oliver reflects that there's a reason women shouldn't have magical powers.

"What does she need to receive?"

AKA 'How can I help?'

Xander would argue against that, and then say how he knows a whole army of women who could kick his ass every way to Sunday with one arm tied behind their back.

He shook his head, "Nope, only I know it. Nobody else can do it. No Slayers, no magic people. Something to remind her."

Oliver nods. "Who is this woman and what is her description?" His tone is quite business-like.

Xander shook his head, "Nope, no, sorry. I don't know you, for all I know, I tell you and you're just going to kill her or lock her up. Not happening. She's my friend. Normally."

Oliver calmly replies, "Sir, I apologize for my brusqueness, but I am a Godsworn. My order protects the innocent and helpless and takes no life carelessly. Your original statement lead me to believe this woman may be dangerous, and you told me nothing contradict that."

Xander got into his face now, narrowing his one eye, "So what, you're like a male Slayer or something? Come on, I know all about it. Or are you like the Council, kill first and try later? No thanks, don't need your kind of 'help.' You just sit back in your tower and get blown up while people like my friends save the world yet again."

Beauregard whickers slightly as Xander steps towards them; Oliver puts a soothing hand on the horse's neck and he calms instantly.

Oliver has tempered his passions (mostly), and, though his jaw briefly clenches, it relaxes a moment later. Xander is young.

"I, myself, understand little of what you said. We come at this issue from different experiences and perspectives. Perhaps if we discussed these further, we might find we have more in common than we think."

Young in that he's early twenties, but there was some hidden maturity from experience. "Yeah, well how many times have you nearly seen the world end, huh? Bet I can top you there."

Xander added, "I got my friend back the last time she was like this. I can do it again. She's my responsibility."

"Likely you can, at that," Oliver says. He's not quite seeing how everything relates to the magic evil woman.

After a moment, Oliver says, "I truly would like to believe that it will be as successful and you think it will be. But I have experience with magic and madness of my own, and plans against those that have both rarely go as one would expect."

Let him respond to that, or not, if he wants. He doesn't want to push too quickly.

"You don't know her like I do. Known each other since childhood. Not going to just hand her over to some stranger to deal with."

"Sir, we speak at cross purposes. If you tell me her description and I see her, I will watch her to make sure she harms no one. Surely, you cannot object to someone dangerous being watched? I thought perhaps I would spread the word to the leaders of this community to let them know - if you've not already done so.

"That is all I intended to do had you given me the information, and that is all I still intend to do."

"I'll take care of it. She's still a Scooby. There's only two people who gotta worry about her, and pretty sure they're still back in my world. Well, one would have still been alive in her time, he's already dead in mine."

He added, "That's how I know I'll get her back. It's already happened for me. She's from my past."

Oliver digests this for a moment.

"Have you seen any foxes in the area?" Oliver asks, glancing around in case he might catch one.

Xander eyed him greatly with the one eye, "The furry kind or the female kind?"

Oliver is obviously missing something.

"Furry - unless they walk as a human. My land has demonic creature that can shift between man and beast. Since I am here, I constantly wonder if any others from my land have joined me."

And if they're making people crazy, because what other explanation is there for Xander's words? (Alternate timelines? No one explained that to Ollie.)

"Haven't see either regular foxes or werefoxes, or werewolves around here either." Another narrowed look at him, hoping that wasn't going to mean this guy was going to hunt those too just because some of them have a bad time for a few days out of the month.
