Snow's in the Cooper kitchen.

This house is totes interesting, and it has a freezer, which automatically = awesome.

So she brought it ice cream!

Ice cream which she is now eating.

It's possible there are tears in Mel's eyes as she offers the entire baby to her. With an attempt at a smile.

"Apparently fevers are really really common. She's not very sick, it's just..."

She feels sick, because she can't keep her temperature down. Burning babies=fretful Moms!

Snow has very little experience with babies! But she did offer, and she can give it cuddles. Freezing cold cuddles. Veryvery gentle ones.

There's a shy and tentative sort of smile to Mel-- is she doing this right? Is she?

She's doing it right!!

Uh, no, actually, she's doing it a little wrong. She's not holding her right, Hana's not going to be...

Actually, Hana's not happy anywhere, but with the cold, her screams turn down an audible notch and she looks at Mom for approval.

"Hey, little girl," Mel says to Hana. "Is that better, nice cold lady cuddles? - thank you," to the woman. But Mel's not letting go of baby hands.

Snow nods, and smiles, and tries to express you're-welcome in the best way an ice spirit can when her arms are full of warm screaming baby.

It's debatable whether it comes through, but hey. Hana's getting quieter (+not setting anything on fire), and that's the important thing here, right?

That is the most important thing in the entire rutting world. Screw the farm, screw possible demons in people's bodies. Screw everything.

Hana's quietening down. Steadily and carefully, she's going from hoarse screaming to quiet sobbing and then Mel's reaching to pull her back before she gets too cold.

"You're OK, Tiny, you're OK....

"Hi!" she can totally have adult conversations too! Even if she sounds a little manic. "I'm Mel."

Snow turns down the cold obediently, and gives Mel a small wave.

By way of introduction... hmm... she produces an oversized, almost cartoonish snowflake, holds it in her palm (which it nearly fills), and points to it. Then herself. Then it again.

Then she shrugs and pops it in the freezer.

Does Mel get it?

"Ice witch?" Mel guesses. "Nice. Might be useful to have you around when they start really setting things on fire."

Ice spirit, but really, close enough.

Shrug. Smile. Nod.

"Well, thanks," Mel says, rocking a fretful baby softly.

"This is Hana, by the way. She's usually a little more sociable, but she's sick right now."

Snow nods again, and gives a small wave to Hana.

Hana gives Snow a look, and Mel takes her hand to wave it for her.

"You living here now?"

Half-shrug. Point to ice cream. Point to freezer. Other half of shrug.

She comes, she brings gifts, she goes. She comes back later.

"Then thanks," Mel says. "We need more of you."

BEAM.
