There are rather a lot of people staying at Lucy's house.
She finds this mildly interesting.
Currently, she's dealing with it by sitting in the kitchen going through a very large basket of apples one fruit at a time.
Anyone visiting or residing at the Cooper household who isn't one of the select few Lucy considers family? Now's your chance to talk to her without getting eaten.

That this move to the cupboard happens to take her the farthest she can get from Lucy and still be in the same room with her is surely a coincidence.
no subject
Unfortunately, she doesn't find it quite that easy to ask why.
So there is headtilt.
no subject
Maybe.
She next gets a fork, then a can opener, then opens the tuna, then sticks the fork in.
"This'd be great in salad," Eden notes mournfully, taking a bite. Ah, chit-chat - though she's not comfortable with it, she can at least do it better than apologizing.
no subject
From across the room, it's difficult to smell an apology - especially a subtle one. If one is there, Lucy misses it for now.
no subject
Then she looks over at Lucy.
"So, I'll be leaving soon. Figured I'd let you know."
no subject
This is good! It means Lucy won't eat her, which means Clark won't get mad at Lucy for eating her.
Thus, there is a smile.
no subject
She quickly reminds herself that Lucy has no reason to be sad at her going.
"Thanks for letting me stay here, though. It really helped me adjust." Eden gives a small smile of her own, thinking of the friends she's made. (Ignoring the enemies.)
no subject
...yeah, she's supposed to try to make friends. Right. Uh.
"--Sorry," she offers in the direction of that momentary annoyance. Even if she's not quite sure what caused it.
no subject
Back against the metaphorical wall, Eden looks apologetic. "No. You tried to tell me something important and I blew you off. I'm the one who's sorry."
She's got no conception that Lucy doesn't mean something like 'sorry for how things worked out between us'.
no subject
"It's all right."
And it very likely is.

Eden should probably say something else. For Clark's sake. "So, how're you handling all the people that seem to keep popping up?"

"Hey."
no subject
"Hey."
no subject
"Apples?" Clark asks, eyeing the basket and coming further in to sit at the table with her. "I brought up some oranges, too."
no subject
"Apples," she agrees. "Oranges are good."
no subject
"We should get more pineapples. They were popular."
no subject
"I'll fly to Hawaii." Offered as though it's as simple as a stroll to the corner store. For Lucy, it's a lot simpler. Hawaii offers no potential human-shaped snacks.
no subject
"That's probably best. I'm not up for that much of a swim."
no subject
"No wings," she says consolingly, as though this must be a terrible burden for him.
Yes, Clark. She's teasing you about being wingless.
no subject
no subject
...It's not a question. Not remotely.
no subject
Pause.
"I really like her."
no subject
Pause.
"She really likes you, too."
Wow, a whole sentence. Delivered with a smile and everything.
...more of a teasing smirk, really. The manner in which Chloe likes Clark, or one of them at least... well.
