Sonia's a surprisingly good seamstress, given her occupation. (Then again, her occupation often involves rips, tears, burns, and other wounds to clothing, so it's a practical consideration.)

So, having discovered that it is now impossible to wear her hunting outfit, she's improvised something with her bedsheets and is now inside the house, trying to ease it more into a "dress" and less a "toga." While in it.

She of course still has the whip at her side. Just in case anyone feels like laughing at her.

"In Warakiya, it don't matter who, so long as y'can fight."

Still looking him over, she moves closer.

"You... ain't all took over."

"Wara-what?" His first question is interrupted by confusion at her statement. He attempts to back away again, still looking baffled. "'Took over'?"

"By the Devil." She's still after him, reaching out to prod him with the toe of her boot. "So, you ain't here t' eat nobody..." Just to make sure.

"No! No, I'm not a demon, and I'm not going to eat anyone, and please don't do that, my leg is broken!"

Whunk-whunk-whunk go the crutches until Edwin notices he's backed himself into a corner.

Bugger.

Bzuh?

"Broken?"

And it's in a cast! Which implies long-term ouchies! Which does not generally happen to a demon!

"My leg-in two bones. And my ribs are cracked, but that isn't nearly as much of a problem."

See? Injured shifter. Don't make his time at the farm any worse!

"How?!" START MAKING SENSE!

"My horse, er, threw me-" Edwin trails off as he tries to back farther into the corner anyway, because good God, this is probably the most alarming woman he's ever met, and that includes the flying ones and ones who happen to be covered in rainbows and know stuff.

Gape.

She wanted you to make sense, Edwin. Shifters getting injured from a fall- and staying that way- does NOT MAKE SENSE.

"And you ain't healed up yet?!"

"Grk," goes Edwin at first, because the continued yelling? Not helping. He stays pressed right into his corner. The corner is safe!

"No, it's-you see-dinosaur-skins don't heal their bones. It's the species weakness. We can heal everything else, just not bones. And they break easily."

Please don't go and try to see this for yourself, Sonia!

The ellipsis here is Sonia filing this away as "useful information for ~~in case~~ when I have to kill this guy or someone like him."

"...and the... not took over thing? Or is that just you?"

"'Skins aren't demons. We're just...people. Who happen to become animals. We still have souls-even the Godsworn held off when Intuition told him that," he says, still looking more than a little nervous.

But telling her how even the Godsworn didn't kill him should help, right? Right?

"Weres were folks. Just like undead 'n' witches. But they lose themselves to evil. Give up their souls."

Wait, Godsworn... "Father Oliver, you mean?"

She sighs, massaging one temple. "I guess... if it happened before..."

"I still have mine, and I'm not evil," Edwin can't help but argue, but not very vehemently. He doesn't want to set off the scary woman again.

He nods at the question. "He said his name was Oliver Wycliffe."

She steps back, giving him some room, and looks more neutral and less like he's a few seconds away from a fight.

"I'll take your word for it, for now. You feel different. Long as y'behave, y'won't have to worry."

SO NO TRYING TO SECRETLY EAT PEOPLE OK

Edwin nods, but stays in his corner. He'll wait to hobble off 'til he's got more room-and is reasonably sure she isn't just waiting for the chance to beat him senseless when his back is turned.

"I don't plan on doing anything."

She nods. "Just... guard yourself. They'll come after you when you're weak." She definitely knows that feeling!

"I hope you can stay like this."

Blink. Blink. "Who's the they?"

Edwin finds himself missing Euloria quite badly all of a sudden. Everyone there was polite enough to refrain from trying to kill him.

"The demons. The ones that give you these powers." TRY TO KEEP UP, EDWIN.

"There's nothing demonic about it!" Cue flailing once more. "It's certainly not natural, I'll admit that, but it's not demonic!"

This is Sonia's "bzuh?!" face.

Edwin momentarily calms down in his flailing to stare at Sonia. "What? It's not like I'm lying about this. It's true!"

"They lie. Why else would they turn you into somethin' that kills people?"

"I don't kill people! And dinosaurs never had a chance to kill people while they were around!"

Well, non-'skin dinosaurs, anyway.
