Took a lot of work, and people's help, but the days of a single shower and toilet on the Cooper farm were over. There were now stalls set up to house a handful at a time. They were crude, comparable to the facilities on a campground site, but serviceable, and fairly clean.

Which meant Xander could finally start on some of the back order requests to build.

"Two Willows? I knew about the black-haired version....yeah, G-String and Spike and I just drove in from further north. Spike's been cursed, so when you see her - yes, I said HER - don't be too surprised."

"Yeah, there's Willow the Good Witch, and Willow the very wicked in a scary skin flaying way witch. But haven't seen much of the second one. First one's around."

Xander then eyed her, and started to laugh, "Wait, her? Deadboy Jr had a sex change? Can I see? Please? I want pictures."

"Sure, but you can't call her Deadboy anymore," Faith says, with a slight smile. "Spike's human now. It's a thing."

He was still laughing, "Oh that serves him right. He had it coming." Xander's still bitter at him for sleeping with Buffy and Anya, and oh assaulting Buffy too. A little bit, there was that whole trigger business that last year in Sunnydale. And him saving the world, but why should Spike get to come back and not Ahn?

"He did."

Faith maybe means the words a little differently from Xander, and is not going to tell him that she's gotten fond of Spike.

Nor, it needs hardly be said, is she gonna tell him about the sexing.

"So....how long have you been here?"

"Some months now. It's been a while since I changed worlds. This is the second place I got dropped into."

"Me too. Well, the months part, anyway." Faith grimaces down at her clothes,. the tattered and stained remnants of what had been a very nice dress. "This dress was a ballgown when I got here. Long story."

He glanced over her, "Well... I must say, wearing what's left very well?" ....Very, very well. Xander likes.

"Flatterer," Faith says, amusedly.

Beat.

"......Xand? You have two eyes again. How'd that happen?"

"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah, kind of a long story. You might see this guy that looks a bit like Principal Snyder in a mirror, only it isn't? He's a god, Mort. Uh, he helped me out." In exchange for being his follower. It's a living.

"Snyder? The one that got eaten?"

Funny how that doesn't narrow it down as much as Faith thinks.

"Huh. Well. Okay. Good, then!"

"Yeah, Principal Snake food. That one, only not."

"Snake. Right. Gotcha."

And cue twinge of guilt in....yeah, right on time.

"I've offed a couple of minor demonic baddies from our world. Mohra or two, nothing major."

Only to a Slayer does a Mohra demon qualify as 'Nothing Major.'

Demon baddies, hey let's focus on that.

"Oh good, no big bads?"

"A T-Rex the day I got here. And a few things with more tentacles than one of Andrew's Japanese cartoon movies."

"But that was miles and miles away from here, and they're mostly dead now, right?"

"Montreal. Canada. And yeah, they're dead."

Beat.

"I've been having Slayer dreams about this place."

"That mean we got danger sign for here?" Xander's tone becoming more serious. "Did you get anything about Rome? Mort was telling me that there's vampires there."

"Man, I don't know what they mean. We're talking full-on cryptic Wizard of Oz shit. Xander, do I LOOK like goddamned Dorothy Gale to you?"

"Yes? Well, only in this one dream I had that also involved jello and maybe wrestling... and I shouldn't have even brought that up so uh, no?"

Faith, not being Buffy, is mostly amused.

"I've worn my hair in pigtails, but that's as close as I get."

Amused is good, very good. Because after dealing with an Slayer army, and seeing how both Buffy and Faith were when they were angry, he knows not to be on the opposing side of it.

"Well, been no twisters around here. And since I almost gave myself a hernia setting up extra bathrooms and showers for the place, I hope we don't get any."

"....showers?"

Look, Xander, she's making the puppy face.

He grinned, "I had a lot of help, but yeah, showers for squeaky clean Slayers over that way." He grinned and pointed to the building now set up with several shower stalls on one side, and toilets on the other.

"Tell me that I might be able to get a change of clothes, and I might just wear that Dorothy outfit for you."
