Jo looked at Rachel inquisitively while she was turned away, even though she was looking at the sudden map just as much.

Complicated.

But the way she handled whatever she handled in French just then looked serious. Even if she didn't like the idea of that tone being used toward her, even subjectively as a though.

Jo was looking at Oracle considering as she went back to satellites. Jo had left that at least mostly already.

"You said you had plans."

Jo's glance is met with light blue eyes before Rachel puts her gaze back on the computers. When Barbara turns around, it's as if she hasn't moved at all.

Mmm, coffee.

(she really should have paid more attention in French class)

"Lots of them," Barbara agrees, without offering much more than that.

"You want in on them?" Barbara doesn't tell anyone everything she's up to, and she wants to know what these two are good at before she risks anything she doesn't have to.

"No." Jo's blunt enough, but it's not cruel.

"Not without knowing anything about them. I want to be doing more than I am already and that means checking out possible avenues for what they have."

Jo doesn't get a glance this time - Rachel is looking at Oracle with her chin lifted, eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"What're the plans for?"

What they are can come later.

"Minimizing chaos is about as good an explanation as any," Barbara suggests. "Like, I've got a couple of contingencies for when Metropolis finally collapses." She figures that's going to be sooner rather than later.

"So if you're into saving the world, we should talk. I can always use some help, after all." As long as it's help on her terms.

Jo gave Rachel a searching look for her question, but she was already getting her answer from Oracle. Oracle didn't get a much better one for the last tacked on part.

She looks rather disgusted with the terminology.

"Better on the monsters side than the people one." The was a pause and she added. "Taking them out." In case Oracle need clarification.

With her hero issues.

Rachel is less tactful.

She laughs at Oracle. Stifled, but there, brows lifted and smirking.

Though she does nod. Save the world? Yeah, okay.

Babs is perfectly willing to laugh with Rachel on this one. "Hey, it may be hokey, but there's really not a better way to put it."

She shifts her attention to Jo. "Skills? Abilities? Experience? Team player?"

She's going to guess the answer to that last is 'no', but asks just in case.

Jo doesn't really like the idea of laying everything on the table, but certain uncomfortabilities aren't new to this situation either.

"My whole life, both on Earth and other places, like this." Jo set her cup down. "There as a hunter for all things demon and supernatural and frequent to going bump in the night."

And.

"I can do people."

She smirked. "If they aren't in my way."

Rachel has to choke another laugh down at Jo's last sentence, smirking behind her coffee cup. She empties it before setting it aside - and answering Oracle's questions herself.

"Yes, yes, yes, no."

In a fashion.

"What sort of things are you two used to going up against?" Babs is already starting to put together a mental list of things to bring up when she talks about them with Dinah.

Jo didn't mind the laugh, even if it was true. She could be a team player and people person. She'd help run bars and been on hunting teams enough that it was hardly laking in her skills.

She just preferred alone. Like her Dad.

"Monsters." Jo made a wave of her hand, because it was pointlessly huge category. "Demons, witches, werewolves, shape changers--anything you've heard of in some folk tale I've either seen it, killed it, or heard about those being done to it."

Plus. You know. Aliens and monsters on other worlds.

But cocky was easier than confiding.

Rachel certainly agrees, keeping her gaze on Babs and nodding in agreement with Jo.

'Monsters' is a good term.

"How big a threat are we talking here? Should I be sending you into D.C. where dinosaurs have pretty much killed everyone? Or are you a bit smaller scale than that?"

Jo considered that, lips thinning.

Her head tilted, "Depends on how many of us were sent there and what time age supplies were present."

Dinosaurs meant teams.

Not impossible.

Rachel listened and didn't bother looking to Jo this time. "I can work a team," she says, quiet with her head tilted slightly to indicate Jo, "but I'd do best alone. Small scale would be better if I'm alone."

Babs nods, working through things in her head. "I think I've got a spot for you, if you want it. But," she cautions, "You'll have to meet Dinah."

Jo's shift to the set of lips make her seem unsurprised.

"When?"

That sounds like a serious warning. Rachel is immediately somewhat defensive about this Dinah person, eyes narrowing slightly and waiting for the answer to Jo's question.

"She's out at the moment, but I can set up a meet. You want to take some comm gear so I can do that?"

Jo's gaze skirted the computer screens again.

"Sure."

For now.

She might leave it to Rachel to tell Dean they would be there longer.

But she wasn't positing on that yet.

If Dean screamed at her, Jo was going to get punched.

Rachel frowns a little regarding comm gear, but Jo's going to be the one holding it. She shrugs and lets her gaze drift off toward the computers, too.

What the hell is all that?

"Okay then. I've made my pitch. Do you two have any questions? I don't quite have eyes everywhere, but I'm as close as I can be." She eyes them both, "Looking for anyone you know?"

Her mother. Her home.

For that matter, her life.

"Nope."

She'd wait until after Rachel's response, before asking. "How's it coming with Innovator?"
