They had read the terms for his execution and he had spat defiance in their faces, now just the horrible wait.

Then a horn sounds and suddenly there is hope again as a knife cuts his bonds and then he's falling and crying as the open wounds on his back shoot through with pain and he can't see and the ground feels wrong.

He should get the bag off his head but moving hurts, perhaps he's finally in Hell.

That is enough to get Will up and slap Marley upside the head,

"Marley, 'as anyone told ye, ye're blind as a bat?"

Will gets shoved away, quite hard, for that.

"Finish eating and let's go."

"Can we lose the testosterone, please? I swear, I should just take off and leave you two to sort out your craziness," grumbles Val, stuffing cookies in her mouth with three tentacles. "Mrrff mmmmf gnrff." She swallows. "Right, all done. We headin' out or what?"

The shoving is fine for Will, he's just decided Marley's being a bit of jerk, but his sandwich is finished at least,

"Aye, we are."

Marley just shrugs, and heads outside. He'd light another cigarette, but it'd only get blown out during jumping anyway.

Val dusts herself off and follows Marley.

Following Marley is something she's good at.

Will waits a moment so they're both out first and then follows, he's stiffer and his good mood's gone, but well maybe they'll be an end to this strange journey soon.

"Don't look so down." Lightly, nudging Will. "On my back."

Yeah, figures they'd be taking the quick route.

Val stretches her wings - they fill the street from curb to curb - and takes off.

Will climbs on, its getting a bit harder to bend his back and shoulders but he'll manage,

"I'll be fine."

Muttered: "I didn't mean to offend you." It's almost an apology. As close as Marley evers get to one.

And then he's off, jumping away.
