Toph is bored. Again
She's wandered back into the Cooper farm to check on her buildings, and see if there's anyone worth talking to,, and mostly to find food.
It probably doesn't matter where you are. Small blind girl will find you.

And then, less than a minute later, there's no wolf. Just a young woman pulling jeans, t-shirt, and shoes down from the tree branch where she'd stashed them an hour ago.
no subject
"Huh," she says. "Another one of you, then?"
no subject
Or maybe the wolf had heard her, looked over and took note of her eyes, and demorphed anyway.
Frowning, confused, Rachel pulls the t-shirt on over her head and gives the girl a look. "What's that supposed to mean?"
no subject
"Just that I haven't met anyone who can do that apart from Lucy since Tom left."
no subject
"Do what?"
no subject
no subject
"You're blind."
This, Rachel thinks, should be vitally important information.

Being unnerved does that to her, see.

"Felt it through the earth."
no subject
"You wanna run that by me again?"

Not that Rachel is from either of those universes, but she's trying to make a point here.

Toph shrugs again. "All sorts of weird stuff going on here."

And, at the moment, is starting to get really sick of little smartass blind girls.
"Yeah, I got that part."
Smartass.

The gun and shoulder holster picked out of the tree and shrugged on.
"I never said I was," she replies, still glaring, tugging a jacket down from the tree branch. "Maybe I haven't been here long enough to get used to jerks showing up out of nowhere knowing secrets they shouldn't."
no subject
That's logic.
Also, Toph doesn't much mind being called a jerk.
no subject
Okay, so her definition of 'public' needs to be a little re-worked here.
no subject
Toph counts herself as part of the public, definitely.
no subject
So there.
no subject
That's sarcasm.

She makes it to five.
"All right, bye," she snaps, laying her jacket over her arm and walking. It doesn't matter which direction and since she's facing Toph, she walks right past her.
no subject
When Rachel's made it five steps past Toph, Toph flicks her heel against the earth.
Tiny little localised earthquake coming right up.
no subject
And tripping.
She doesn't hit the floor, at least, but there's still a red tinge to her face when she stumbles and glares back at Toph over her shoulder. Not because she suspects of her being involved somehow - she just hates that she may have seen it.
Heard it.
Something.

But she lifts a hand to wave cheerfully behind her.
"Have a good trip!" she says, and walks on.
no subject
No, she couldn't have-
She said she sees through the earth, not-
But Earthbending doesn't have anything to do with sight, does-
Confused, angry Rachel is both confused and angry.
