Observant people may note that Garo looks quite tired and grumpy today. However, anybody that observant would've also realised a while ago that Garo usually looks tired and grumpy, so that's okay.

Currently, he's stalking around the entrance to Hogwarts, looking exceptionally cheesed off, half-heartedly going through sword forms. Botherable.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Garo shuffles over, in case Will needs somebody to lean on.

His forehead is a little warm and his color is a bit paler than normal, but he does his best to stand,

"Can make it back."

"You sure? Because if you so much as stumble, we're carrying you back." It didn't look good, but might just be a light infection or cold. She then started to walk again, but staying close by Will on the one side.

Garo headed along too, keeping on the other side of Will.

Pause.

"So, not a benevolent forest god, then."

Will just nods, doing his best to just keep walking straight, focusing on the smell of Kate's hair.

"I'd say that's a big fat no," Kate agreed with Garo as they walked along. She was going to keep monitoring Will's progress the whole time. She shifted to move an arm around to support him.

"Shame."

He'd talk but he's feeling tired and a not too good but he tries to not lean too much on Kate.

Her eyes narrowed worriedly and she quickened her pace.

"Almost there. And yeah, of course the god that shows up isn't a nice one. Now how do we stop it?"

"Fire? It has a good track record with most woody objects."

"Oh aye, fire in the trees."

Will says as he just keeps walking, one foot in front of the other, then he can just go to sleep.

Another worried look at Will, before Kate added, "Fire arrows worked well against the triffids. Should do well with this. The problem is? How would we take out that tree if we had to without blowing up what's left of the city?"

"Giant flamethrowers?" Garo is short on ideas.

He just keeps nodding as finally they reach the exit near the castle and Will mumbles,

"Should sleep."

"That might work. How good would you be with building them? And how would they operate?"

Kate supported Will more as she started to go up to get back into the castle, "Come on, up the stairs. Let's get you to the infirmary just in case. You can sleep there."

"... I know I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but building a giant flamethrower would be pretty kriffin' difficult, especially with the resources we have. Moving it around even worse."

Will gets a pat, as Garo lifts one of his arms to drape around his shoulders and support him.
"Hang in there."

He nods and keeps mumbling things about fire as he walks between them.

Kate shushed Will, and stroked his hair. He really didn't look good at all.

They headed up the stairs, though the moving stairs seemed to be getting them up to the infirmary quicker.

"So back to square one. We need more people," she said to Garo.

"Yeah, good luck with that."

He's not paying attention anymore and in the infirmary he collapses into a bed.

She went to fix a blanket and pillow for Will, and checked his forehead and cheeks again.

She then glanced at Garo, "I know, but there's some around the city. How are you coming with the communication equipment?"

"Steady on, I've been away for almost two weeks and dealing with this crazymagicstuff since I got back." Garo mutters, finding a cloth and cool water. The cloth is quickly wetted and placed over Will's forehead.

He murmurs and tosses, having trouble sleeping properly as the fever sets in.

She kissed the top of Will's head. He's getting worse. What was wrong with him?

There was an apologetic look to Garo, "I know, but we all have to focus here. I'm going to try and check with my contacts. Warn them of what's here. Try to get another distress message back to the farm. Teddy's still there, he can help us a lot." She didn't want to have to leave Will like this, but she didn't have much choice. She was becoming a sort of de facto leader, and that meant responsibilities came first.

"I'll stick around here and cool Will down. See if the portraits can guide me through making some potions."
