"My last friends sold me out," Garo points out, helpfully. "Though I'm fairly certain neither you nor Kate would do that." He's not sure Kate wouldn't try to turf him out of the city if she thought he was a threat, bue he knows she'd at least be up front and direct about it.
"S'difficult t'trust anybody. But I know you're not the backstabby-betrayal-type. You're nice. Direct. Trustworthy. I know you'll let me know if you want t'hurt or kill me." Garo nods. "Don't think you ever will, though."
