A very large, orange, furry new person.

And that giant bat.

Okay, so enough time spent at the Cooper farm forces you to get used to a great many things, but still:

"I'm sorry," she says a little weakly to Crobat, not even positively sure that it can understand her. "I guess I just wasn't quite prepared for the full reality of it."

"Cro? Batcrobat."

It ventures a little closer, since she seems more confused and surprised, rather than "OUT OF MY HOME YOU VILE BEAST!"

"...you realise that sounds so weird," murmurs Cassie, with a slightly nervous smile. But only slightly, because whilst Crobat is a giant freaky talking bat, this by definition makes it really damn cool.

Lots of things at the farm have looked dangerous without actually making any attempt to harm her; she still has an automatic 'back away' reaction, but she resists it.

And she's still staring, for the record. That's a habit she should probably wean herself off at some point, if she's not to inadvertantly offend someone.
