Valerie Bell is lounging around in front of the Cooper house, waiting for someone who looks vaguely in charge to wander by.

Until then, she's shamelessly showing off her mutant powers by juggling innumerable chunks of dirt with twelve glowing white tentacles.

Hey, it's an excercise in coordination! Right. Yep. Uh-huh.

"As long as it isn't painful."

Marley's totally not preparing for anything by setting his hands on Val's shoulders. Of course not.

...The shoulder-settling makes her mildly suspicious. But hey, gloating! She taps her chin thoughtfully as she pretends to mull over the possibilities, bouncing slowly up and down on her supporting tentacles. (Being this tall is awesome. She should totally walk around like this all the time.)

In fact she has no idea what to claim as her reward ~~besides a kiss but she would rather eat nails than admit she wants one~~.

Long pause.

Surprise attempt to wrestle her to the ground!

"Asshole," she says from the other side of his entirely successful attempt, shoving him away somewhat ineffectually with that tentacle around his waist. This doesn't work so well when she has no leverage and doesn't feel like tearing him in half. In fact, it pretty much doesn't work at all.

Marley is just going to be silently smug.

Val is just going to be silently pinned to the ground and glaring.

...He's kind of lying on top of her.

QUICK MUST HIDE BLUSH SOMEHOW.

ACKFLAIL.

One Val, suddenly bright red.

AHA. She must be red because she's EMBARASSED ABOUT BEING DEFEATED. Marley so smrt.

He may adjust himself slightly to pin her, a little better.

Adjustments not helping, Mar.

Val yeeps.

"You win," she grumbles. Grudgingly.

And then, because like Valerie Bell is going to let that shit stand, SURPRISE TICKLE ATTACK! With extra tentacles!

Marley refuses to be moved by these tickling shenanigans!
"That's cheating!"

"You expected anything different?"

...dammit, tickling isn't working.

Val tries not to think of other things she could do to motivate him to let go of her very quickly.

It is difficult.

Marley considers this.
"Not so much, no." Grin. "Still not letting you up, though."

Fine, fine.

...Will he let her up if she very obviously grabs his ass?

"Wait, you can't do that! That's really cheating!"

Still not moving, though.

"Who says?" Val challenges, grinning.

"I say! Besides, I've already won."

"Yeah, yeah."

Val just grins at him.

In her opinion, the day goes to she who grabs the butt. Even if the grabbing is accomplished via tentacles.

"I'm glad you agree."

"Right. Agree. Sure."

And now she's looking up at him expectantly.

Because, hello. There's a dude lying on top of her in a field. For one thing, he should probably let her up eventually. For another, it's rather an intimate position to be in.

"Is there something on my fa - Oh, right!" Marley clambers off her, standing and brushing himself down, before offering a hand to help her up.

At this point she can't help but cackle as she lets her white-glowing tendrils fade to nothing and accepts his hand up.

"You're a dork, Mar," she informs him. But, grudgingly: "A dork who won fair and square, though."

"That's right." Cheerfully.

She grows herself a pair of very tall feet in order to better ruffle his hair.

And then looks down.

"...sweet, best platform shoes EVER."

"Might make walking difficult, though."

"Ffft," she says demonstratively. "It's just like having really long-ass legs. Except walking around this ground in bare feet would probably be pretty yucky."

"Seeing you this tall is weird, though." Marley protests.
